I just graduated and its sad that I have to leave that part of my left behind. So I would like about graduating or something among those lines. Something where it makes you think of the good and bad times. In other would a bittersweet anime having to do with growing up and living life. Something on those lines, does not have to be exactly that but you get the idea. Thanks.

The closest thing I would personally recommend to you is Big Windup. I say that because while the setting and theme of the anime is a highschool baseball team of students who are only spending their first year throughtout the story, the central character Mihashi metaphorically graduates as a pitcher. Throughout middle school, he was hated by hisl teammates for being a lousy pitcher that costed them games when everybody preferred the relief pitcher, Kanou.

That greatly affected his self-confidence and he winds up transferring to a different high school called Nishiura instead of staying at Mihoshi like his former teammates and ends up in a new team. Mihashi as a character can tend to often be anxious and teary. However if you can look past that, you will be able to see some subtle improvements in both Mihashi's personality and his confidence. And not just with Mihashi either, but all of the characters ultimately grow.

You seem to live in New York, so I don't think you would have a problem seeing the dub of the show on the Funimation website, which makes the characters sound more like actual teenagers than in many other dubs. But that's only if you prefer to watch it dubbed. If not, then I understand that you have your reasons.

Ocean Waves and Honey and Clover fit best. H+C spends a little while creating the characters and their good/bad times before it gets going, but it's the epitome of bittersweet experiences while growing up.

Only Yesterday is about a grown woman thinking of her time in primary school, but it fits your desired theme perfectly.

Maria-sama ga Miteru has a mini-arc just about the senior characters graduating once you get to the second season. Even before then, time passes quickly enough that the gradual changes in characters and reflection on oneself and others are important.

Try the appropriately title ova 'Graduation', I've only seen the first part of the ova so far, but it is very good. A group girls that are close friends decide to go on a trip before their high school graduation. They reflect on some anxieties of the future, whether its college, work or if they will still see each other after they graduate.

Already mentioned, by other posters and I also heartily recommend:

'Ocean Waves / Umi ga kikoeru'' - the setting also starts off during a high school graduation trip. Focuses more on the brief romance and regrets that can happen when one thing ends and another begins.

'Honey and Clover / hachimitsu to kuroba' - wonderful slice off life/ romantic comedy/ drama - college students in an art school. It explores the theme of what can hold a person back (perhaps a sheltered college life) and things that can allow a person to move forward (graduating, being true to one's feelings).

'5cm per second / byosoku 5 senchimetoru' - beautiful - that is all I got to say.

Itazura na Kiss? Seems to be very popular, so I'd say yes (haven't seen it yet, but have had friends raving at me about it!) :)

Regarding Itazura, it's different from the typical romance anime in the sense that it actually shows the progress of the relationship

Clannad and Clannad After Story. The first Season is all about the last year of school and in the sceond its about leaving school and start working. Other recommendations would be Itazura na Kiss and Kimi ga nozomu eien, theyre both very enjoyable, too
