| Self-explanatory title. I won't limit this to just Japanese movies since it would be quite interesting to see what other films people are interested in, but if you're a member of this club chances are the last film you saw was Japanese anyway. The last film I saw, which was Japanese, was Takeshis'. I can honestly say I was bewildered by the time it finished. Kitano definitely succeeded in what he set out to do - create a film that makes audiences come out wondering what the hell they just saw. I think I'll watch it a second time before critiquing, but I did enjoy it very much. |

| I just got done watching Blood and Bones. It's gotta be one of the most brutal films I have ever seen. Kitano's character is a beast. An outstanding performance, though. It's gonna stick with me for a while. @bakayaro-dude - Wow, wasn't expecting Rope to pop up in this thread. Great film! I'd personally say it's one of Hitchcock's best. |

| Watched Sugata Sanshiro, Drunken Angel, Stray Dog, Rashomon and Seven Samurai today. The classic film channel was marathoning Kurosawa's films today so I watched about 10 hours worth lol. |
| Tokyo Chorus (1931) and Spring in a Small Town (1948) Tokyo Chorus is quite interesting not only because it's a great silent Ozu film, but it features a 7 year old Hideko Takamine in her first film role. What a career she went on to have, and she's even still alive. |
| I watched Eastern Promises today. Viggo Mortensen is a damn good actor. I doubt many other actors would be up for a three minute fight sequence where they are completely naked. | The Twilight Samurai Not bad but it's hampered a bit by some weak and generic dialogue and many of the characters lack a certain dynamic aspect. But it's still a worthwhile watch, really feels authentic in showing the late Edo period. |

| Only Yesterday great anime from Ghibli and once again a evidence that Takahata is underrated by the media. | Haha, Armor of God is pretty dire but I love it because of Chan's charm. There is an Armor of God II which is generally considered better than the first, and Chan is currently working on Armor of God III as a farewell bid to his action career. I find it quite upsetting that Chan's stunt career is nearing its end, but then again he hasn't really done any major stunts in the past decade compared to his earlier work, so I guess you could consider it over already, but many people are expecting a lot from Armor of God III, myself included. |

| Little Big Soldier a pretty good movie with some funny moments but it has some really boring scenes. Everybody's fine is a movie with some great moments but the ending is to cliché. Seven Samurai Finally my first Kurosawa and i understand why Seven Samurai is a groundbreaking movie really epic stuff. |

| I watched The Last Fortress by Akira Kurosawa at a friend's place today. She also gave me Nobody Knows by Hirokazu Kore-eda and Fallen Angels by Wong Kar-Wai to take home. I'll watch these in the course of next week. |
