Okay, so I need to watch my episodes and seasons in order (even if that means watching all of Naruto before I get to Shipudden or all of One Piece to catch up to the current, etc.)I don't like recaps because they miss a lot of the good stuff, so I just watch what i missed. There are certain people who can watch the last episode first and then jump back and forth to figure out what happened. So I'm asking is it important for you to watch things in order?

Duh ! I'll watch from Start to End. unless episodes where fillers became unrelated to actual plot.

Woah, that's so stupid... I get pissed just by reading a spoiler, can't imagine purposely spoiling the ending for myself. Why not just watch the second episode instead of the last to see if it gets more interesting. Gah, most stupid thing I've read all day.

yeah, I think the only time I would ever skip ahead is if something isn't that good but I just want to know how it ends. I don't think I've ever actually done that though, just thought about doing it and then not bothered lol

Same with me. I find it very weird to start at the middle of a story.

On my first watch I start at the beginning. Re-watching doesn't necessarily follow the exact order and I tend to skip scenes when I do.

Unless of course you're watching a show like The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. That one can be a big exception.

I watch from beginning to end, just like the average individual. I've even tried making sure I watch movies around the time episode-wise that the movie came out, and thus far my exception there has been with the Case Closed movies. Unfortunately, I somewhat regret that, but since I don't see any sign of seasons beyond the fifth coming out on DVD any time soon I can only say bleh to it all.

Probably more interesting would be discussions on broadcast vs chronological order. I watched the DVD release of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, which is more or less in chronological order, but I wasn't aware that there was a different broadcast order. Overall, it didn't seem like this would be a big deal until Rental Magica Part 1 came out on DVD. It gives both options. (Great, now I have to make a decision!)

Okay, so I try out broadcast order, but it feels cut up. I stopped and intend to restart in chronological order. I hope it makes more sense.

On more mainstream animes that have a lot of episodes, I skip around at first to get a feel of what's coming later. If I like what I see, I'll start from the beginning and go in order.

I always start from episode 1 of season 1, and then watch in order. Even for shows that aired in the wrong order like Haruhi and Rental Magica, I watch them online in the proper chronological order. It could get pretty confusing if you don't watch in order because you'll miss the small details mentioned earlier.

Why would anyone watch sart an anime from any other episode apart from 1?

To make more of an actual discussion, I prefer to watch anime in airing order, rather than chronological order, so that means if there are any prequels that are released after the original anime (examples I can think of off the top of my head are Macross, Votoms and.Slayers), I will watch the original, plus any sequels that were released before the prequel.

Season 1, Episode 1. That's how I'm doing until now.

Yes. Otherwise I would probably end up missing episodes.

I would never think of watching a second season without seeing the first either.

I always try to watch anime from start to end. The only anime that come to mind that I've watched out of order are Diebuster and Gunbuster(which I watched in that order) and Futakoi and Futakoi Alternative(which I watched in that order)

I start at the end of the last episode and watch in 1.0x rewind until I reach the beginning of the first episode. Why?

Cos I'm the backwards man the backwards man, I can watch backwards as fast as you can.

In all seriousness though, I'm not stupid. I watch from beginning to end, unless they cut up the broadcast order in which case I watch 1, 6, 2, 7, 8, 3, 10, 4, etc.

This is daft. As far as I know, most people watch from start to finish and only occasionally miss out boring fillers or recaps.

I think its important to watch them in order, except if its one of those eternal anime series you mentioned. If I ever got to see one of those I would start with the last season, because I don't think its possible for a normal human being to catch up.

Yes episode and season order are very important. I like seeing characters being introduced into the series and other events that help shape the anime.

....what? Who does that? I kind of want to smack them. That would irritate me unless it's for individual shows like Haruhi Suzumiya or even Baccano (which is constantly switching settings/POVs). If I watched all my shows like that I'd go nuts.

Somewhat... of course I usually start with the beginning...but when I come into a series in the middle I'll usually watch until the end, then watch its beginning...that is of course if I liked the series

Yeah, I watch things in order, unless the anime purposely arranged the eps in non-chronological order then I'd follow it.
(Example: Haruhi season 1)

Well I obviously start from episode 1, season 1. If I rewatch it, I'm just gonna watch my favorite episodes unless I'm in the mood to watch the whole thing again.

I have a friend who refuses to watch first episodes. She says it's unneccesary information and really boring. Although, she pretty much only watches those Korean dramas, but she'll watch anime too if its a plain, school life romance with no action or mystery or anything. She only watches anime with me which annoys the hell out of me because I want to watch the first episode and she doesn't. And when she finally gives in after about a half hour of arguing, she asks me a shit load of questions which annoys me even more because I hate explaining things and/or I don't even know enough about the anime to answer them.

We've been best friends for over 5 years now :)

I'm a bandwagon whore

Yes it is important to me. I start with episode 1, season 1 with everything with the exception of Kanon (2006). Wait is Kanon even considered the first season?..anyways back to the point. I like to watch things from beginning to end, so that the ending is actually meaningful and also gives a sense of completion. Yup, and I never understood why people would just skip to the end and watch the last episode..like wtf? It's like reading the first chapter and then the last chapter of a book, what's the point?

Have to watch it in order. Cowboy Bebop I watched the movie between episode 22 and 23, where it takes place. I will do the same for other anime.
