Question for female viewers

"As a male viewer, I enjoyed this show, but I noticed it has a low score, considering how ratings usually go on MAL. I'm asking out of pure curiosity: for the female viewers out there, did you enjoy this show too—and it's the male audience bringing down the average? Or did you also not enjoy it?

From a neutral point of view, I have mixed feelings. Many of the characters are interesting but Uka turns out to be very annoying.... As a woman, her actions sometimes become weird

It's just likely because it's nothing new to the shoujo romance genre. Nothing about it was groundbreaking so plenty of people were probably bored. I did still enjoy it myself, but I usually look to watch seinen or non-action shounen so it probably didn't feel as overdone to me.

You also have to consider that men often dowvote shows that appeal too much to the female audience while ignoring men and vice versa. This is one of the reasons why such shows often have low ratings.

i did find the MC to be annoying and overly emotional at times, since she cried so freaking much, but overall, I still liked it. It was cute, but as someone else said, it's nothing new to the genre. Many of the typical tropes were used but I guess it was nice they did some things differently.

For me it's a very good anime. I also wondered why it didn't get a better score. Maybe I'm biased because I haven't seen a lot of shojo genre. However, I would have given it a point higher if the main female character was better developed and not too simple at times.

The show was good, however I was not really particularly fond of the fmc, she was really annoying at times. Her character also felt really stiff.

I enjoyed It a lot overall but sometimes I found It a bit boring. Still I don't get the "the mc is annoying!" complains I found her kinda relatable

I'm a male. I watch and read shoujo animes, mangas and manhwas. Uka is the main reason this story is unbearable. I understand why she's like that but at some point, it just becomes annoying and she starts acting like she regressed mentally.

i love this anime so much.
i don't know or care about others but for me it's 10 out 10 and I'm really hoping a sequel cuz *rant time* Shoujo's never gets sequels these years and it's too unfair

It's nothing groundbreaking in the genre but enjoyable in its own way however the downgrade of quality more specifically the animation and artstyle threw it off for me mostly

Actually, I liked it in terms of the main idea because I found the shyness of the lead girl close to me, but I found it a little weak in terms of character elements, but I still enjoyed watching it.

I enjoyed it! This was the first anime I watched where I wanted more and immediately started reading the manga to find out what happens next. The MC isn't necessarily for everyone, but I could relate to having controlling parents so I didn't find her emotions annoying like some others have mentioned. I really enjoyed watching her growth. I was also a fan of the ML 👌

Totally agree with this!!! Overall, I did enjoy the anime and liked many of the characters, but sometimes I found the mc very annoying. I felt like it was like Sawako from Kimi Ni Todoke but a lot more exaggerated lol. I did like Uka, but sometimes I felt like it was a bit too much idk

Honestly, for me it wasn’t very memorable it wasn’t any new kind of plot, if anything it was a downgrade from usual school romance. The fl was genuinely weird and in my opinion she didn’t have much character development and relied on the ml was more than she needed to. She also cried to much which pmo.
