The off putting thing about the trailer is that dialogues are all overlay, which is why you might think there's a weird thing but don't worry

The voice is okay, just different from what I expected. But I do think using big names like Seto Asami or Tomatsu Haruka too often can feel overused. It’s nice to hear some fresh voices sometimes.

Her voice sounds like a little sister character type. From all the panels I saw on internet I expected a little bit more mature tone in her voice. Anyway, I'm sure her voice will grow on me.

I mean.. She is a soft girl, and ussualy the kind of voice who shows caring about him. I mean a girl of 1.48 m who likes cake don't have a mature voice.. It's a new VA and I actually enjoy it

Yeah, I was about to create a forum just like this! It's a shame they picked this VA—her voice is too high-pitched. They should've chosen a more well-known VA for the main role, especially since the character has been popular since the manga. When I read the manga, I imagined her voice to be soft, angelic, friendly, and positive vibe.
This VA voice is too high pitch so I think it's negative vibe.

The better choice VA should be
Manaka Iwami = Akane (Oshi no ko) , Honda (Fruit Basket)
Ai Kayano = Persia (Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet) , Sylphiette (Mushoku Tensei)
Kana Hanazawa = Onodera (Nisekoi) , Mitsuri (Kimetsu no Yaiba)

I didn't mean full grown up mature voice, but a little bit more mature than what she sounds now. Whatever, I don't wanna discuss further as I'm sure she'll grow on me. Infact it's not even a complain from me, I just thought "huh, so she will sound like this...", that's all.

I'm glad to see that some of you agree with me, while others don't — and that's totally fine; it all comes down to personal opinions and preferences. I think she's a really mature girl. I get that she loves cake, so a slightly youthful voice makes sense, but the voice she was given sounds more like a middle schooler just goofing around with her friends.

Mature and big voice are different.
I don't think a deep voice like Erza is fine but Kaoruko "sounds" to me in the manga more mature than actual va.

I feel like the disappointment with Kaoruko's voice is more because her voice actress isn't popular and doesn't keep up with the character's level of fame, however Honoka's voice isn't much different from Kana Hazanawa, Manaka Iwami and Kana Ichinose and the three of them also have a kawaii voice that's a little high-pitched, especially Manaka Iwami, but I believe that if they were one of the three for this job no one would be complaining, although I think it's difficult for them to call Kana Hazanawa since she's already well-known and therefore could be expensive to hire, however I think everyone will like Honoka in the end and she could go from someone unknown to someone more popular thanks to her character, just like Hina Suguta who before Marin had never voiced a famous character and was a newbie but since Marin became very popular she also became popular and even with small roles she already has a thousand favorites on Myanimelist and I believe it will be the same thing with Honoka if Kaoruko manages to achieve the same popularity that Marin achieved.

@Tomguinho It's the most anticipated romance anime. Shouldn't they pick famous VA for Kaoruko ?

--> Almost every words of Honoka is high-pitched. Kana isn't. So it is quite DIFFERENT.
If it isn't diff, then there shouldn't be this much people complaining.

--> It’s obvious that the director is taking advantage of the manga’s popularity. Since a lot of people are going to watch it anyway, they can choose to hire a cheaper voice actress to cut costs. This leads to forcing viewers to accept the decision, even though people actually like Kaoruko for the character and the story — not because of the voice acting. If this were an unknown anime, they would probably choose a more famous voice actress to attract attention. Honoka could have started with side roles first, and then worked her way up to opportunities like this.

--> I disagree. You can check her profile — even after Marin role, she’s only had a few roles. Do you really call that "popular"? It’s obvious that people liked Marin as a character. You barely see anyone praising the voice acting specifically for Marin. It will be the same case for Honoka. You'll see — after the Kaoruko anime ends, she’ll have little chance of landing another major role like this.

In conclusion, it's disappointing that the director is trying to cut the budget by taking advantage of the manga's popularity, knowing that people are going to watch it anyway.

Bro it's just a personal opinion.Since I don't know a lot of VA's names, I cannot accurately suggest one. But as a viewer and a manga fan, I cannot imagine Waguri having a middle schooler's voice. She is a high schooler and a very mature person, so she should have a youthful voice but not the childish, shrill voice. I am not insulting any Voice Actor or the producer or anyone else, it's just *my* opinion. As for Japan not listening to the west, that's completely fine, why should they anyway listen to people from other countries about their own culture. But as a fan I can still have my own opinions that are not agreeable to everyone
