Movie give an impression of being completely disconnected from the rest of the series as if it was anime original.
It's protagonist did not appeared in TV series at all so far despise it being literally a prequel to the main story.
I'd say you can skip it, because it won't create any plot holes for you, but I still recommend it because it's a solid watch.
it's just wrong.

Please OP ignore this post.

Bro, you can't even comprehend something as simple as Demon Slayer, so I don't really want to see any bullshit from you.

Yes, but it’s highly recommended that you watch the movie before watching this season.

the movie does introduce you to characters that may show up in season 2 but I don't think it's necessary I'm sure you can safely skip over it and watch this season although I do recommend watching the movie since it was fun to watch.

Nah it’s definitely better to watch season 1 before the movie since the movie spoils some things in season 1

I watched the movie before season 1 it didnt spoil anything for me

Oh wait actually, one thing that makes watching the series first a better option (that I just noticed rewatching the movie today) is that you most likely won’t notice the black flash attacks in the movie without watching the series first. That could just look like a random effect with the black cursed energy, like how they always show pure cursed energy as blue. Yuta did a black flash against Geto, and in the scene right after that, it showed Nanami’s world record of four black flashes in a row

Yes its better to watch the movie. It may be a prequel, but it contains plot points that are relevant for season 2. Otherwise, there would be some aspects that don’t make sense or aren’t clear. Plus, it introduces Yuta Okkotsu, a very important character.

Also, its overall a great movie on its own.

Yes you can, but the movie is 1) rlly good and 2) adds a little bit on context on some of the characters past

I spared your life on a whim, nothing more.

Absolutely! You can dive into this season without watching the movie; it stands on its own, offering a fresh storyline and character arcs. While there might be subtle references to the movie, they don't significantly impact your understanding of the current season. So, go ahead and enjoy your binge-watching experience without feeling the need to catch the movie first!

@fsafsafsafsa I disagree. If they skip the movie, then a certain plot twist won't make sense. The movie is required to understand what happened to a certain character or else the viewer would get confused or be left wondering what happened in Season 2.

EDIT: Just realized you probably meant that they could watch the movie later and watch season 2 first. My mistake and I had assumed you meant for them to skip it entirely. Regardless, the movie is still a must watch and can be done after the first 5 episodes of season 2 (before we get back to our main trio)
