Unfortunately the anime changed it to “limp viscut” although I wish they kept it as “flaccid pancake” because it would’ve been hilarious to hear voice actors try to say with all seriousness. Controversial opinion, but I actually like the name changes, because they’re funny, and it makes JoJo more bizarre to know their original names.

That is precisely the reason I don't believe the copyright excuse. It is more likely the translators changed the names for the sake of being silly, as they have been known to do with other anime.
