THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
The pacing was slower this time and it worked really well.
Also, HOW MANY BREADS HAVE YOU EATEN IN YOUR LIFE??!!!
Bruford's fight was awesome!

I also liked how they used one of the later parts from Roundabout for this episode's ending.

They've cut two of my favorite Speedwagon scenes but that's just okay. I still enjoyed the episode a lot. I can't wait for the next one.

In the musichology of Jojo, the song of Brufort is Roundabout because the name of drummer of band is Bill Brudfort

The episode was great.

I didn't think that this episode was slow or anything... Just that I've been waiting for the next parts to hurry up and get animated. This is really where the sweet spot of Phantom Blood begins... In my opinion, of course.

Is the river very shallow? I see Speedwagon can cross it without getting his jacket or pant wet....
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Okay, aside from the abruptness at the beginning, this episode was really well-done. I am enjoying the dark knights more than I did in the manga, actually.

OH, and I had no idea that Speedwagon's body could be used a grill! xD

ALL OF THIS IS SO INTENSE!!!!

We're already in volume four. At this rate part one will be over in 3 (maybe 4) episodes.

The anime makes me realize just how awesome Speedwagon is. Love that guy.

Overall, I really liked the action this episode and I just realized how dramatic the narrator makes things seem as well as how the characters saying what they are thinking and at times what Im thinking can make it way more fun than the action does it. Action wise, Im impressed by how many different overdrivers there are, so many colors I hope. Turquiose one underwater was stunning as well as the Scarlet one!

Didnt like a few parts, Zoom Punch felt like something out of Toriko just way less toned down and unimpressive and Naruto did the walking on water jutsu way better, it looked way too comical here especially how Zeppeli crossed and how unrefined JoJo was at it. Im not much one to pay attention to history so I ended up losing focus at that part and was bored.

I need the OST though, the song during Zeppeli v Dio and the arm freezing part (before the other song kicked in) is the best song in the whole show

You forget that Jojo exist before the title you name. I wonder how you are doing compared to something that was done in the 80s and a lot of other things most recent.

We could do more comparison between Hokuto no ken and jojo Part 1.

Another great episode, the action was at the top. I love how they call the techs in battle.
I hope they slow it down a little or it will finish at Episode 7.

My favorite quotes in this episode. So much win. I laughed so hard when Zeppeli randomly said "HEY BABY!"

Indeed, this anime is just so fun to watch!

You do realize that if this is the case, Toriko is the one that ripped of JoJo not visa versa. You are now realizing the pain us old school anime fans have with modern anime. Once you realize what Toriko is after watching all of JoJo's, you will come to understand the blight that is modern shounen.

Kira of course is the voice of reason. I really love all the contributions you make to the JoJo threads.

Though your name makes me fearful that you will steal my face and my life.

How many breads indeed. I might warm up to Dio in the end. Though he has now become all-knowing, apparently. What's up with that?

The knights....inspiration for a similar combi in Yu Yu Hakusho? Nice.

JoJo (was a man who thought he was a loneeeer....oh wait, wrong one) looks like Kenshiro in the OP, but kinda goofy in the series (dat cap). I suppose OP is showing 'things to come'.

No, again and again. YuYu Hakusho exist most later that Jojo. Togashi is too much inspired by Araki and there are so many details that you can noticed. You'll see more when there will be Stand in Jojo.

Comparing Toriko to Jojo is stupid because 1. Both are great mangas and 2. Even though they ooze manliness, both are VERY different.

I would say that it is stupid because Jojo started in 1987 and Toriko started twenty one years later in 2008. Of course there is influence, Shimbukuro sensei had to have read Araki sensei in Jump growing up, but as you pointed out, so what? All modern Fantasy has been influenced by Tolkien because everyone who writes Fantasy probably read Tolkien as a kid, that there is influence means nothing, those who want to make such connections need to show why it matters.

Though I have enjoyed reading people who think Jojo was influenced by Toriko. Historical continuity is an acquired, not an innate skill :-)

Did you even read that? I assume (based on this post) that English isn't your first language, but come on, it's a really simple sentence. Now, look at it again - I state that JoJo's knights were the inspiration for the brothers in Yu Yu Hakusho. Please don't box me in with the chronologically-confused.
