Just read the manga, Season 4 will probably never happen in the near future. This also applies to every other show that are unfinished.

I’ve heard this echoed multiple other places but I still can’t see why. Kaguya-Sama is both one of the most popular and one of the most well received anime A-1 has ever made, why wouldn’t a season four be coming?

If you checked the airing shows & movies screening on the season the latest movie was released...

Youll understand why A-1 didnt do anything eversince...

I really hope S4 never happens. I thought the movie was a letdown compared to the show and the ending was fine and I'm way better off with no S4.

@GC_Garrison According to MangaUpdates, they adapted 136 chapters (I did the math).

The kaguya-sama team made the currently airing Too Many Losing Heroines so give it some time. I’d bet their next project would be kaguya season 4. 3+ year gaps between seasons isn’t unusual for anime.

No, it will definitely happen but not anytime sooner. I love the show way too much to pick up the manga. Not ready for spoilers. I'll wait for s4. A-1 Pictures just have a lot on their hands. They can't drop Kaguya-sama: Love is War just like that. Besides, I want to see more beyond the movie. It was peak but not a perfect ending to me plus they've adapted just half of the manga. There's more to be adapted.πŸ‘πŸΎ

I agree, few people here saying that it's best to end the series as it is, but Kaguya sama is not about the main two charecters. The side characters sometimes give me more to look forward, so I have to watch Hayasaka and Ishigami - Miko's arc.

Same here. Hayasaka is one person I love so much in the series and my best girl as well so I want to watch her arc so badly.

They always give us easter eggs hinting next season is coming. There was one for season 4 in a poster for the movie i think on twitter, s3 had one also in a twitter post iirc. Season 2 was hinted in the last episode of season 1. So im pretty sure we will get s4, Kaguya sama is huge in the romance genre, and generally as an anime, so its just a question of time. If we're lucky we'll get it in 2026 earliest, its too late for an announcement for 2025.

I don't see the rest getting adapted because of how the story is gonna progress

Personally I think it's better to leave it be and let those who want know the complete story read the manga. If they do adapt hope they don't butcher it and give it the love it deserves.

I think I heard people say the rest of the manga dips in quality once Miyuki and Kaguya actually hook up.

Plus I don’t think a lot of people are talking about it nowadays, especially given how Oshi No Ko seemingly took its place.

I just think this is objectively false. People are saying that the quality of the story declines because the comedy aspect is toned down.
it's not a spoiler to say a tone shift will happen. It isn't a direct story event.

I see that as an improvement because it leans more into the drama and lightens the comedy. The comedy was generally good and really fun but the tone shift actually feels more appropriate as they're getting older and being more mature. Matches the symbolism of them treating their love and the time they have together with more respect after the events of the movie. The more serious moments of Oregairu and Bunny Girl are really hard hitting and impactful and the comedy of those shows still exists, but it is more subtle. Yu's arc tone wise was very serious and it's not like Kaguya sama lacks serious moments

Oshi no ko can't replace Kaguya because it's not a direct competitor/comparable story in most aspects. Only the slice of life aspect but otherwise 2 different types of stories.

I'm confident that Kaguya will get a season 4 no later than 2025 and will most likely be fully adapted given the popularity. Maybe if the fall off is big as you say and if the viewership actually reflects that, A1 may drop the series after season 4

I'm not saying it gets worse because of the lack of comedy compared to the first half of the manga, I actually enjoyed it a lot too. The thing is, there was a whole build up before the end of season 3 and the movie, and even the comedy was toned down at that part for the romance development to happen.

I enjoyed the whole manga almost equally, but you also must consider that there were 3 seasons of development for them to finally stay in a relationship, and that's why specifically the chapters covering the Dual Confessions arc are my favorites, even though the drama of the latter half and the comedy of the first half are explendid.

Kaguya-sama was my favorite manga, I followed it since 2015, but the story declines since 150, which had a good ending with the movie so for me it is perfect that this great story ends here, the animation team is now animating makeine, maybe after this they will announce a season 4, but I prefer season 2 of makeine to a season 4 of kaguya-sama, not because I like it more but because I don't want to see a mediocre season of kaguya-sama

I'll be honest? I have no faith in kaguya finishing. My only reasoning for thinking it was because they already jumped on oshi no ko. But it's a shame to leave the anime where it is since the next arc is kinda peak, but leaving it where it is would kinda make it feel like a typical rom Com ending. Besides it's not like the real ending was that much more satisfying

What?? The Movie was straight up peak. Literally adapted the Manga one to one. You're just capping now. Either you didn't like the Manga in the first place or you watched the movie blindfolded. Only very few scenes were cut out anyways if i remember correctly. Definitely wasn't a letdown tho

not sure if anyone else has said this but imma say it now. the story no longer follows the love war of the prez and vice president. the both have acknowledged their feelings and are together. it's now about the treasurer and his love war. won't go into details for spoilers but yeah the story is till the same but completely different now since the focus has shifted. this is probably why there won't be another season.

@rohan121 I understand what you mean but I wouldn't call three seasons,a movie,an ova,two live actions (even tho A-1 didn't make that) as simply "promoting the source material". To me the ones that are like that are 12 episode shows or maybe two seasons and were never meant to ever be full adaptations. But yeah anime are def made to sell figures/merch.

According to various news and leaks, the film's box office was not very good, so it was decided, if not to cancel the adaptation, then at least to freeze it. This started back in the third season, so they adapted the film material in advance so that it felt like the final chord of the story.

@Comica21 That's just you. The majority would love there to be a S4. I would love for Chapter 220 to be animated.

If you are content with the ending of S3, that's understandable. Maybe drop the series if A-1 does S4 one day.
