Starting from S4 this show became much more dark and mature. Characters started dying, stakes were much higher and overally it no longer was a kid's show. It was a huge improvement.

Season 3 was peak for me but I always enjoyed MHA. Even the least enjoyable season 5 never went below 7/10 for me and all the seasons were pretty consistent in terms of quality.
