Did anyone know how many chapters or volume has left in the LN or from which chapter or volume is season 2 going to adapt. Which I heard is going to be the college arc

There is no season 2. The sequels for this show are divided into movies. The newest one was in theatres a while ago. Every volume is a different movie, I think.

Season 1 was 5 books in the light novel series, then the Dreaming Girl movie was 2 books, then Sister Venturing out was a shorter movie from 1 book. I believe Knapsack Kid is next out, leaving only 3 books (4 if including the next due out in a month or so, Santa Claus) I have no idea how far the Japanese releases are in front of English versions though…
But anyhow, there isn’t enough material for a 12-13 episode season and the movies seem to keep coming. I expect that is the long term plan.

Yeah so, the newest movies cover Volumnes 8 and 9 (Sister venturing out and knapsack kid) there are currently 12 translated LN in english.
The college arc starts from LN 10 (Lost Singer) until now the newest LN 12. Also LN 13 comes out in August and LN 15 is the confirmed FINAL LN said by Hajime-sensei himself. They will probably wait till LN 15 to fully adapt the season since S1 was also 5 Volumnes.

That may not actually be the case. At the end of the final movie they announced the “University arc” it is unconfirmed whether that is a movie or a season. Many are leaning towards season since they didn’t outright announce “Rascal Does Not Dream of a Lost Singer”
