So i looked at the synopsis and the rating and i thought this would be an annoying tsundere romcom

then i read the review by EyeAmTheI and i decided to give this a shot, i went in expecting a subpar romance but what i got was an amazing slice of life anime with a sprinkle of romance(which is awful) like if you removed the romance from this story entirely and slap on a slice of life tag i am sure most of the complaints would disappear.
I love both slice of life and romance so as it stands i have a love hate relationship with this anime, until the last episode i loved it but the ending butchered an otherwise great story and as i've seen in other posts about the development in the LN i am convinced even including the LN this story in its entirety is a horrifyingly terrible romance story

Bro this show fucking sucked in both departments. Like you said the romance was god awful and probably the worst I have ever seen. To me literally nothing redeemed this garbage show. What parts of it did you think were SOL cuz I didn’t notice much if any.

yea, you are kinda right there. I don't know about LN but in this season we didn't see much of a romance rather as you mentioned it was mostly 'Slice of Life'. Someone may say it was romance because of the developments that happened passively but it was not worth mentioning, rather than falling for someone it was more like realisation of love for someone. I think that that Romance tag would be from the LN where we would have a much appreciable development between the two.
Maybe if we get a second season then we might be saying that these post were like bluff as we didn't know what was coming.

Interesting concept, but the usual poor execution and low quality production destroyed it.

There’s no exaggeration in saying this series definitely the worst romance series this year and one of the all time worst.

Have to agree. Anime was horrible. Aika, the main love interest, barely had a role in the show. I completely forgot she existed until I looked at the cast of characters.

The romance is not the focus of the story, but rather Sajou's transition from magical thinking to rational thinking. Although it is a poorly executed work, it has been one of the few interesting things that there were in 2023.

It was fine. Not great, not terrible. The animation was godawful, tho. Just terrible. Some of the character designs were neat. I could have done with a little more high school life, giving him some male friends and reducing the "every girl he meets is clearly into him" thing. And obviously he should date the girl's best friend. But whatever, I liked it well enough, didn't love it, didn't hate it. As far as romance and slice of life go in 2023, it ranks well below Insomniacs, Dangers and Horimiya, but I liked it more than Glasses Girl or Experienced You.

And I completely agree with you my friend was about to YEET my phone when we reached episode 2 but I endured the not cringiness but genuine annoyance of this show

It's basically Oregairu if it wasn't good. Op was banger though. I agree the tsundere aspect was done really poorly considering that's the reason I started watching it too.

experienced you wasn't that good either but the characters are leagues better than this. they're so shallow it hurts.

I didn’t really enjoy this either. I thought it was gonna be about the guy moving on (kind of wanted him to be with the ponytail girl) and more slice of life but it is what it is. Just gonna try to forget about this one

@liveleaked Osamake is a masterpiece. The only crime is that it never got dubbed. This one is also good.
