A mix of Zeke and Eren's plan

What are Eren motives?
Save paradis and his friends from the outside world.
How he does it?
The Rumbling.
What are Zeke motives?
Save the eldians.
How he does it?
Killing them.

But.. did they both not know that they could... literally remove the eldians ability to transform into titans? And that would fix all the problem without needing to kill anyone except probably Eren ,Zeke and the worm thingy?
Isn't that the best and obvious solution for everyone?
Or am I missing something here?

Yeah pretty sure that could have been also a way but Ymir's curse exists and in order to get rid of all the Titans or the ability to transform into them (which was exactly Eren's main goal along with securing a peaceful future for his friends), the curse had to be lifted and hence, Eren did that.

Zeke's plan was indeed another option as well, but Eren would have never allowed it to happen.

I'm pretty sure ymir accepted to remove the curse because mikasa killed eren. (correct me if im wrong) The Rumbling pretty much did not affect ymir at all. she didn't mind it happening or not. so if the plan was mikasa killing eren. and the Avengers defeating the worm along with zeke. I think we would more or less get the same result without killing 80% of the population.

1. The only way to end the curse of titans was with Eren's plan since it was the only way Ymir would accept death.
2. If they could remove titans from the world that would have made things worse, cuz then they wouldn't have a way to defend themselves and the main reason for the world to invade Pardais was for resources (while using the sins of the past to justify it), not because of the titan curse.

Saving his friends is a secondary motive, Eren wanted to do the rumbling and see an empty world because that was his idea of freedom.

Don’t forget he also wiped out 80% of humanity to make sure they wouldn’t retaliate or eliminate Paradise in his friends lifetime. Even if they were to just strip Eldian’s of the curse, humanity was set on exploiting Paradise and wiping the Eldian’s out for their past. The rumbling ensured the rest of the world couldn’t attack Paradise for a while.

If they just got rid of Titan powers without the Rumbling, or atleast a partial one, what's stopping the world from nuking Paradis?
Either way, Eren said he was gonna do the Rumbling anyway, so it was meant to happen.

Whole world would have attacked paradis for resources, titans and million collosal titan protected them so far. They will not care if u can transform or not, paradis people will serve as slave to marley and other nation.why?? Bcuz they hate paradis devils.

It isn’t an option because then there is no deterrent in preventing an invasion of Paradis. The rumbling is necessary for that, so Eldians there can die out peacefully instead of being persecuted or persecuting others.

In this case, which I guess works out nicely for Paradis, the world is horribly stunted to the point where Paradis can dominate without the titans. Not so great for Eren’s conscience though.

The only problem with removing titan transformation is : outside world are still hating eldians.
Without titan powers they will crush eldian empire. Some people not gonna believe titan power really gone, they still want to make sure that titan is no more by eradicating eldians anyway. Also, removing transformation doesn't change the fact people still hate eldians because the past.
The reason the ending doesn't lead to world against eldia after transformation removed is because rest of the world world weak, and eren's friends framed as the hero, just like Tybur family to calm the hate.

It’s never specifically stated what Ymir’s upper limit powers are. They describe her as a god but like what if the founder decided to make all eldians 27 foot tall superman flying immortal people with skin made out of metal and 9 arms shooting lasers out of their eyes and spiked cocks? Like yes she has insane power but I feel like there are upper limits.

I would assume taking away eldians powers to turn titan might not be possible since it directly contradicts itself, as well as contradicts the original king fritz orders so ymir may not follow it.

On top of that it doesn’t go along with eren’s motivations. One of his key motivations is that he simply wants to rumble the world because he wants that untouched world he dreamed of. He just wants to taste that version of freedom. Another key point in leaving 20% is that they do not have the physical ability to retaliate against paradis/eldians anymore. I think atp eren has figured out human hatred can’t be extinguished no matter what he does. Even if he takes away the power to transform titan with the founder, it effectively just gives the world the excuse they need to genocide all eldians off the face of the planet because A) they’re not useful to world power marley anymore and B) they can’t fight back which was the only thing stopping the world from nuking them out of existence anyways

I am still stupefied and bewildered why Ymir’s curse is even a thing. Why does she live King Fritz so much that she has to go with this elaborate plot to get over him? It’s really stupid or silly, but probably a mixture of both. It is such a handicap on any rational solution to the titans problem in the first place.

Zeke's goal was never to save the Eldians, far from it. For him, Eldians were the source of all suffering in the world, for other people and themselves. His goal was to save the world by genociding the Eldians, ridding it from the source of all evil. I think I saw someone argue that it wasn't Eren who erased the titan ability but Ymir, but I could be wrong.

I think the ending could have used a lot more detail and time. Isayama left behind a bunch of plot holes and we're here trying to make sense out of it. The ending might not be terrible, but it's definitely poorly delivered.

I sometimes forget to finish my sentences.
