| Minorin never dates Ryuji once. Ami is a friend but nothing more. Taiga is a friend to the mc most of the anime. Definitely not fitting of a harem tag. It is a monogamous romance. |

| First, genres and themes are very subjetive to the ones who submit the entries and there isn't any specific description for "harem" in MAL's genre info. I think Toradora is not a Harem, for almost all the show is not even a topic unlike "love polygon". When the show starts: Taiga --> Yusaku --> Sumire Ryuuji <--> Minori (only a strongly hinted crush from her side) Ami --> [no one] When half the show is reached: Taiga <--> Ryuuji <-- Minori & Ami Yusaku <--> Sumire Minori and Ami have a crush for Ryuuji, but early (Minori) and half (Ami) in the show they choose to stay away from the "fight" for him since they know Taiga developed a crush for him so it's not even a competition like in harems, it ends up being a one-sided romcom after the love polygon is left aside. |

| Admittedly, I haven't watched that many harem anime, but for me, a harem anime makes it obvious that the female characters are love interests for the protagonist. Taiga isn't an obvious love interest until later on in the show, and Ami's true feelings aren't made completely clear if I remember correctly. So, it doesn't qualify as a harem in my book. Having 3 love interests is the bare minimum for a harem, anyway. |
