can I watch this without watchinng the original Aikatsu?

MyAnimeList lists this anime as having an "alternative setting" from Aikatsu, so I think it's pretty safe to say it's like PreCure in that it's self-contained.

You can try watching it without the original series, but I haven't seen any of it myself so I can't guarantee for sure.

Yes you can watch each version of Aikatsu separately without the others. Aikatsu, Aikatsu Stars, and Aikatsu Friends are all separate stories with completely different characters.
