Now that Final Season part 3 Final chapters part 1 has arrived, which studio do you prefer more? Wit Studio or MAPPA? Personally I prefer MAPPA for their impressive art and mind blowing CGI, but Wit studio is great aswell. You may share your reasons for liking your favorite studio.

Hate studio wars but if you ask for my personal preference, then I'll go with MAPPA. They did the difficult job of animating two of the greatest arcs in manga history. I know fs they would have done wonders if only they weren't under time restrictions for s4p1. I loved their cgi.

WiT fans might not like this, but I don't think they would have been able to do these final arcs justice, had they still been in charge of AoT. So I am honestly glad that a studio change happened.

Btw, WiT also did an amazing job but I'll never be able to forgive them for what they did to Mikasa's character and also the bad adaptation of the Uprising arc content wise. Levi's important characterization was also not adapted fully. Also I didn't follow with their colossal titan cgi much in s3p2.

I'd choose WIT only for the ODMG
I say we had better art and arguably a better direction in Season 4 although the staff were under slavery

Even though I prefer Mappa as well, you gotta give Wit more credit. You forgot about Spy x Family, Ranking of Kings, Ancient Magus Bride Season 1, Vinland Saga Season 1 and Great Pretender.

bruh wtf are you talking about ? mikasa's design looks totally fine in s4. and even if you don't like it, it's not even MAPPA who made this design, they just followed the manga

If we are just talking about just aot I have to go with wit because season 3 was so well animated. Overall Mappa is a better studio though.

Wit has better ODM Gear fights, MAPPA has better art-style, personally I prefer MAPPA because of the more realistic and darker tone.

Yeah Mikasa's appearance was a little weird in final season part 1 ngl 💀. It was hard it tell if she was Mikasa, if it's not for the scarf she wore, and she almost looked like a man lmao. But her appearance was fixed in the later part. Well the art of Mappa in general is much better than that of Wit, and thats exactly what I expected from mappa before starting final season (a mappa stan 💀). Yeah art wise mappa definitely lived upto my expectations when I started final season (the CGI and the characters looked so hot 💀), but for some weird reason, the art fell off as it slowly went towards the Warhammer titan and assault (poor lighting saturation and contrast 💀). Most noticeably the characters Mikasa and especially Floch looked fat, got fixed later tho. For others, the character designs looked cool but, I wasn't able to fully enjoy thanks to less lighting and almost no contrast. However they were fixed gradually, and rich lighting and contrast is what final season part 3 exists for haha 💀 (Mikasa is back to a hot woman). The art of wit studio wasn't all that great in the first 2 seasons, the line work was too simple and the characters looked too oily. And then comes season 3, which was leagues better in art compared to the first 2 seasons. The line work of the characters looked complete and they looked very bright, and the eyes looked gorgeous. Man their animation in respect to the art was so damn good, I still remember that Levi vs Kenny ODM gear action (it was animated by some God 💀).

I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused to you I know this discussion is getting a bit old lol. But I guess this question is supposed to be asked one last time after the final season part 3 final chapters part 2 arrives. There are lots of people who dislike mappa for the change in animation style and the post-timeskip changes, not because mappa did a bad job, but because they didn't like the changes after wit studio gave up. It looks like even through mappa pulled out some of the most well animated scenes in all of animation and competing head to head with demon slayer, people chose wit studio because of their attachment to the studio. It would just be interesting to see if mappa manages to bring people to their side, or wit studio still remains people's top priority.

i much preffer the wit art style.

even though this latest special had about the same amount of love put into as the wit work, the art style change still makes me preffer wit by a long shot.

the cgi is barely "good" and thats only if we ignore beast titan.

people clown so much on the 3e of s3p2, but the beast titan of s4 is WAY worse looking.

MAPPA, without question, bro. You can't possibly convince me that what's going on right now wouldn't look goofy as hell in that style after everything we've been through. The change in studio represents the change in our characters story/development.

It wouldn't, we had many incredibly serious moments in the first 3 seasons and it looked great.

I wonder how they were even able to create such realistic 3D models (not the titans) under that amount of pressure (maybe V-sign was making the cgi models while mappa was animating the 2D figures, then mappa integrated the cgi later on or smth). I have one question for you, what's your opinion on the latest episode? Did the animation feel good? I really liked the scene of Hange killing the colossals, did you too?

They are both perfect for the arcs they adapt. Personally I prefer mappa because it is more similar to Isayama's rough style, but they both did a great job
