Everyone says one piece is the GOAT, but I've just finished little garden, and the only arc I really loved was arlong park.

Is there more consistent better arcs or should I  drop it? Zoro is amazing those lol

nah mate, imo from episode 90 onwards (alabasta) the arcs are so much better back to back.

baratie and arlong park are fantastic but early one piece is slow to build the plot, once you hit 300 you will struck by the hype.

so I would stick with it if I was you.

i had pretty much the exact same experience lol. everyone says Arlong Park is where most people get hooked and while i adored it, the next couple arcs felt underwhelming. especially Little Garden :P

the next arc, Drum Island, is way better and Alabasta is when i knew i was sticking with the series for the long run.

I would recommend that you at least stick until the end of Alabasta. From that point on the story really picks up the pace. There are still some slow moments here and there, but overall the story in general is PEAK.

Also, please take your time and enjoy the ride at your own pace and don't rush to catch up as many fans would advise you to. This is a special story which you will look back on with fond memories. Enjoy your time aboard nakama :)

Little garden is not good. Drum island is better and alabasta is much better.

So if you liked arlong park, there are much better arcs waiting for you.

That being said one piece only gets really good with water 7 and enies lobby, episode 220 and onwards

You're missing so much. Further arcs are amazing and packed with a lot of action. However, if you are too bored watching this, just switch to something you love.

You’re in little garden, which isn’t even an arc, maybe get to skypiea before asking this.

Peak One Piece starts from Water 7 and onward. That’s when you’ll start binge watching lol

I consider everything before that as ‘slow’ introductions.

Bro just think of watching only the 1st episode of a 12 episode long goated anime...and then quiting it on the basis of just that episode... You r in the same situation... Watch until Alabasta.. I can bet on my life that you will be hooked on Goat piece..

Trust. As someone who is on only ep 200, One piece Will consume you

Just power through little garden, its booty cheeks. Drum island is pretty good, some emotional gut punches and plus you meet chopper.

Alabasta tho... oh my god... its so peak, dont research it. just go in blind. I will say, Little garden and Whiskey peak are just setting up for Alabasta. Alabasta is where the show hits the ground running. 30 eps of peak. After that you have Jaya which sets up for Skypeia which is really good -albiet drawn out- then you have g8 which is peak filler. And boom your caught up to me.
REGULAR SHOW TROUNCES ANY ANIME. PEAK FICTION

We protect other species because humans themselves are lonely creatures. We protect the environment because humans themselves don’t want to go extinct. What drives us is simply self-gratification. But I think that’s fine, and that it’s really all there is to it. There’s no point in despising humans by human standards. That’s right. So in the end, it’s hypocritical for us to love Earth without loving ourselves.

I am a little sad you didn’t like Little Garden as much. I found that arc super funny. But Drum island is your next arc and one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy it as much as me. But you need to understand OP is a journey. Everyday I wish I could forget the show and rewatch it all anew. It truly is one of the greatest stories ever told! Some arcs will resonate with you more than others. But you will NOT regret continuing and watching.

To me, the Dressrosa ark is the best. Very emotional and deep, somehow One Piece always deliver excellent episodes after very "slow" episodes.. It's really up to you if you wanna keep going.

They have been waiting, waiting for so long.. they are gonna break the rules POWER FOR THE STRONG! BURSTING! BURSTING! BURSTING OUT!

as a person who watched it all because these people

i must admit, i see why they say that, but i disagree because of their passion and liking for the show itself.

they have started long ago and caught up to it, nowadays some actions ( and mostly fillers ) are high quality, like the recent episode that just dropped 1061.

however, the pacing is soo slow, to get to the action after so many darn fillers, Mind you their stories are interesting, but it gets boring when you binge watch it, and if you didnt you may lose attention and care for the show.

now, as most say, Alabsta is a great arc, but personally, i say the skypia arc and episodes after 712 when it gets actually good imo.

i like pirate shows, and adventure that shows progression of character development too.

it delivers on that, But there are so many gosh darn fillers istg, purely because its faithful to the manga.

if anything, Id suggest, to keep watching it, Slow pace, no need to go fast on it, Just whenever.

Be patient. If you loved Arlong Park then it's a sign that you see potential in the series. Keep watching through Alabasta and if that doesn't do anything for you then consider stopping.

Look at it this way - a 20 episode anime would be allowed to have upto 4 relatively slow, less plot-heavy episodes just for introducing the characters, the world, establishing character dynamics, etc, right? So that's 20%.

One Piece is already more than 1000 episodes & chapters. 20% of 1000 is 200. Any level-headed, unbiased fan of One Piece will tell you that it only starts to CONSISTENTLY hit long, epic G.O.A.T tier arcs from Ep 227 onwards (Water 7 arc - if you watch that arc and STILL don't think One Piece is great, feel free to drop it & CONFIDENTLY say it's "not for you" or even "not that great in your opinion").

BUT, most people who DO watch that arc realise what One Piece's true nature & greatness actually is - and also, eventually, that it's from that point on, quite consistently followed by BANGER after banger arcs: Enies Lobby, Post-Enies Lobby, the ending of Thriller Bark, Sabaody Archipelago, Impel Down, the LEGENDARY Marineford arc, Post-Marineford, the underrated Fishman Island, "flawed but having the best villain" Dressrosa, Zou, Wholecake Island, Reverie, and ofc the arc "SO long & different, it might as well be a separate anime longer than even the entirety of Hunter x Hunter"- Wano Country.

THESE arcs of One Piece from 227 to 1060+ (more than 800 episodes+ of GREATNESS) are why people consider it one of the most epic anime (but especially manga) series of all time. Not that there's nothing great Before Water 7 - Baratie, Arlong Park, Arabasta, Jaya, and even the beginning & ending of Skypiea are all A-tier stuff too. Just that you have to keep in mind that early One Piece was a shonen written & animated in the late 90s & early 2000s, and it kinda shows - plus, it actually DIDN'T have the kind of G.O.A.T status it enjoys today, until it hit at least Arabasta (Ep 92 or so), but especially so only after Water 7.

Pro-tip on getting to the good parts ASAP: read the manga for everything except Arabasta, Jaya, and the beginning & ending of Skypiea, until you reach Water 7 (Ep 227). Or, if you don't like reading manga AT ALL, try watching the One PACE fanedit whenever possible.

well personally i liked op until arlong park as well. it was until i finished watching water 7 and ennies lobby arcs that i truly became addicted/hooked with the series. I think youll really like ennies lobby if you liked arlong park, so maybe watch those arcs and if you dont like them maybe you should consider stopping by that point.

One piece is seperated into 3 big massive parts. The first part is more of a slow burn in terms of its plot developments and the show focuses heavly on romantism and adventure well introducing many of the locales in the OP world. If your into the exoctic world building and adventure aspect, the show honestly should have already hooked you by now. How ever if you instead want more major plot twists and developments in the overarching story. That is where the 2nd part of the story comes into play, when everything introduced in the first part starts to expand and you get alot of moving pieces of specific subplots and character arcs. Characters get defeated and go through dramatic transformations and changes. EVERYTHING is moving in this world. Nothing gets shunned aside.  It all comes full circle in a masterfully executed way to where things that you discover in ep 1 or ep 134 could have relevence several hundred episodes later. Oda also never writes characters or plot events out of his story once they fail to become a focus like hiro mashima or kishimoto and other authors. Every single thing you see in this massive world all has a reason for existing and likewise becomes cohesivly connected in a way you never could have imagined. Thus the 3rd part the final saga takes all of those moving pieces and wraps everything up in an ENDING that mind you, oda has known about since he started the serialization of the manga. If there is such a thing as a "perfect" ending to a shonen (lol) one piece actually might be it. The reason I laugh is because shonen is just plagued by consistencies when it comes to endings, but this series is just something else. The man the legend and the GOD, oda him self has carefully and maticoulsly crafted every little piece and build his lore and mythology and he knows exactly where every subplot is heading.

Anyways aside from my long winded comment, I would say specifically if it has not caught your attention by water 7 arc, then you might want to consider dropping it. Other wise could wait till the summit war saga which really takes everything I said from part 1 and just amps up the story and many developments but that is kind of a long ways away. Either way give it a few more arcs and see if you enjoy it. The first really sort of larger arc with greater consequences and drama would be alabasta in the 100's. Hope you give it a chance though because this series is number #1 in japan for a reason.

Additionionally you can check out this video. It showcases the world of one piece and it has very light spoilers on the story it self.

Everyone have different taste.
Someone may like it, doesn't mean you have to like it too.

And tbh, most people that says it's GOAT. comes from the main stream anime watchers.
Those kind of people you shouldn't even trust. Except the popular anime's they don't watch much.

But like someone else said. You haven't watched much yet, better stuff will come later.
But it's up to you if you want to keep watching it or drop it.
