I knew nothing about this show until a youtube recommended video popped up with showed the trailer. I plan on watching it but I've heard the MC is kind of a wuss pushover. I gotta ask is the show good and does the MC get better along the episodes?

The MC is not a wuss , probably he will have character development in the future but you can atleast say that this MC is better than Kazuya xD

well to be honest I am still waiting for this mc to get better until now it is mostly a romantic relationship between him and vermeil with one tsundere girl, it has some secret plot in the background but to be honest the fifth scenes and magic there isn't a lot of it

it's difficult, I mean mc isn't your nasa from tonikawa in terms of boldness but technically a kid, and yes he does improve. As far as story goes it's great, it's just like how 10 15 percent of rating are 1 or 2 star just because a anime is harem or ecchi, similar case so I would suggest generally before watching a harem anime give it a +1 additional rating, like if it's a 7.3 keep a 8.3 in mind and watch, if you want to consider rating that that is.
try watching it , it was good for me.

This guy is nothing like Kazutrash. He’s an overly nice guy tho, but not utterly useless like Izumi from Shikimori. Idk, I kinda like him better than most mcs from anime of this genre. The only thing I dislike is that there is no romance between him and the childhood friend from his end, at least yet.

The Mc is a wuss starting out but he gets bolder. Vermeil is the star of the show.

The MC is far from a wuss. He'll step up to anyone who needs a beatdown honestly. It's just that he has an overly benevolent nature, and rather than exemplify his more "aggressive" traits, the writers decided to keep pushing the envelope of "nice guy do nice thing" in high tension situations. I'd say give it a try, still an enjoyable show. Don't expect solid writing and combat logic and it'll be 10x more enjoyable.
