There's no denying that Light had a radical sense of justice, as L asserts in the second episode. His entire ideology is rooted in the idea that if one has done what he will deem wrong then they have essentially forfeited their life. This indicates that he believes idealized concepts of right and wrong are prerequisites to life and not vice versa, which is an incredibly faulty mode of reasoning. Since he fails to properly acknowledge right, he must resort to his own abilities in the cat and mouse game between him and L. Having said this, he does blunder quite a bit in the game, showing that his ability is as faulty as his ideology. It's only sensible that he lost in the end.

It's a brilliant show and I hope this response gives it the attention it deserves. <3

In short, yes.
But when going in detail I can say I like light because his character has a lot of details that many of the other characters didn't get to have, even when talking about L. Now I still prefer L to light, but Light is still a cool character. His trying sense of justice in a psychotic way makes his character interesting. Also how he is manipulative makes his character interesting to watch because you never know what way he's going to change himself to get someone to do his dirty work and help his cause.

Ngl bruh, I would've totally wanted to see Light's image of his "new world" with him reigning at the top as the supreme god.

Cause like.. Imagine a world without crime, would it be boring, would it be better than what we have now? What would it be like?

Light is a narcissist and a sociopath. He deludes himself into believing what he is doing is just...and clearly a lot of people buy the bullshit. Sociopaths are good at charming people to get what they want. As for his "new world" without crime, where he'll be judge, jury, and executioner? Please. Even in a perfect world, he would get bored and find some reason to continue killing. That's just who he is...a sad, little man with a god complex that just so happened to find an artifact to play out his sick fantasy. That being said lol...he is a very well written character and the story relies on this contradictory belief that he's doing good, when in fact he's a monster.

Ik what you are saying, and yeah according to the stats provided in “Death Note 13: How to Read”, light is shown to be more intelligent than L. Although, what i am saying, Light has such a significant advantage, that the fact that they were so close (like Shinigami(s), death note and the eyes). While light being my favourite compared to L, i still can't deny the fact that how L is only foiled by "supernatural" BS. So, not going by "stats" and not being biased about "light as my fav", i said L has more IQ.

At first I loved light for his excellent plans, sense of manipulation and IQ, but after a while the fact that he would kill his own family and hundreds of innocent people to achieve his plans bothered me, so all of a sudden I didn't like him anymore.

L lost but he was better than Light. Light is just a manipulator , without help of Misa and other shinigamis , he wouldn't be able to defeat L. He is also intelligent but not as much as L. Cause he acted with his passion and at some point he forgot his main goal , killed the innocent just for his stupid passion and ideals. His desire to create world without evil was good , but the acts that he took on his way to that desire was bad and evil. So it just makes him evil but nothing else.

I love Light, because I find it incredibly interesting that he thinks he’s doing good. I love L more, just because he’s literally a boss, but Light is an incredibly complex character, who literally almost conquered the world. I respect him for wanting to make the world a better place, even though his actions weren’t exactly ethical, and I think he’s one the best protagonists.

I prefer L, but I really like Light as well. I don't agree with his ideology, but he is a very good character and protagonist
