OK. I'm gonna be taking things seriously then since you're a very active user. First of all, I have to say that I have no knowledge of what season 2 Nezuko amounts to as much so I'm not going to speak much about that. But pertaining to the argument of Nezuko being a well developed character, no. Nezuko's role is to be Tanjiro's object of value that needs to be protected but at the same time a reliable sibling in times of need. To better explain this, you first need to know what it means to be a well-developed character. A well-made character is a character that fits to the story it's supposed to be a part of and accomplishes its role. A well-developed character has to flaws, characteristics, and prospects that make them feel like a real person, not just a character. You don't need to have changes in the personality of your character to call it well-developed but instead make it so that either the current personality is given time and explanation as to how it became or make the characters face their inner flaws and emotions and force them to respond in a creative yet non-contradictive manner. Nezuko is neither as the ways the story tries to develop Nezuko really doesn't challenge her character as much as it should. It ranges between innocent child to I will protect my family at all cost. There are some hints of deepness to her character, like the fact that she is a survivor of a demon slaughter and now is a demon and at the same time reverted into a more child-like personality that could be explored more if it only tried to. But no, Nezuko is always asleep and because she lacks more complicated emotions to convey, it really is hard for us, the viewers, to think of her as nothing but a pet dog. Her gaining powers is not really character development since it needs to at the very least coincide with a new different emotion or characteristic of Nezuko that isn't just "I'm gonna protect my family at all cost". (also the fact that unearned power gaining without explanation is not really good an action shonen)

I'm not saying you should not like a character, its just not what you would call a well-developed character. A better example of a better-developed character in Demon Slayer is Rengoku. He was introduced as this weird eccentric Hashira. In the dream state, it was shown how he wanted to be praised by the trio when killing demons which made him feel childlike. The backstory he had provided reasons for us to understand more as to why he is the way he is. Finally, in the face of utter defeat, he stands his ground, but not only that, he smiles and sees his dead mother. This could be perceived as both him being exhausted completely and him wandering if he did the right thing to do, conveyed through his depressing smile. That is what a somewhat well-developed character looks like.

We can see her barely in the series and in whole time she was just fighting with demons and awakening her powers and rest of the time is comedy or cute moments of her even in the manga.
I don't see any depth or character development of nezuko.

It’s not character development… it’s completely different. Character development is the craft of giving a character a personality, depth, and motivations that propel them through a story. Character development is also defined as how a character evolves throughout the course of a story. Nezuko might have gained new powers but that doesn’t mean her character itself or motivations have changed; it remains the same. Is there anything else about her that could count as development other than gaining new powers?

Well I find both of them uninteresting...not my fault after watching character arcs of actual well written females like Kaguya,Violet, Shinobu(monogatari not Bullcrap Slayer LoL) etc. etc. the list will probably keep getting longer,even Orihime is 5x better than both Nezuko and Mikasa.

Orihime is also in the same league 😂. I think she is even worse. I dropped Bleach twice because I couldn't stand her "kurosaki-kun" shenanigan. I completed Bleach later tho.

nezuko is mostly a neutral character since all she says is "mm" etc.. n jus fights to protect her brother. Can't rly say she has a character development beyond her strength that got increased. Therefore u can't rly hate her nor love her like crazy
