Is it just me or is it strange for a count's daughter to get uppity at a DUKE's daughter?

Like isn't this suppose to be a society that cares about social classes a lot with the "blah blah commoners" that gets mentioned every episode? Moreover how the hell does she not recognise the queen of her own country!?

Please tell me this is some sort of translation error or that this doesn't happen in the source LN because massive plotholes like this seriously ruins my enjoyment of the show.

it's not a plothole.

It's just that like in episode 10. The nobles in that universe don't care about anything but themselves and their positions. That Count's daughter is just arrogant of her position (Why she was being uppity with Angie, is a spoiler for volume 3. So, you better check out the LN), that she is blind about the person in front of her(queen).

Also the queen was incognito. You can see that, even though when Angie was walking around with her, she wasn't getting any attention by the crowd. Leon was just quick to read the room and use that to his advantage.

yea it's not like it's impossible to fake appearance / incognito mode in real life. so the queen scene is definitely logical especially coming from arrogant rich who only want others to look at them instead of them carefully looking for someone of her own stature

I don't buy it, if they truly cared about their position they wouldn't be pissing off a duke household when they're just from a count household. I hoped maybe it's a TL error and that chick was also from a duke household as she mentioned something about been rivals later on but apparently that's not the case. The rival line also doesn't make sense if she's just a count.

Yeah except the queen WASN'T doing any of that. She wasn't wearing a mask, a hood, or anything that changes her appearance despite her saying so. Which is another plothole if you think about it. The animators should of at least put a hat or sunglasses on her. Moreover that chick continues to antagonise Angie after this scene even after the queen has shown she's on Angie's side. Not knowing is one thing, but even after knowing she continues to go against the duke family and royal family, which is totally absurd.

I guess the last factor would be because of anime logic. It was a bit off for me too but I don't really expect them to follow the real life rule because their way of talking will not be the same as commoner in first place.

I see, that makes a little more sense, guess the LN does a better job in explaining than the anime. But what exactly do you mean the Redgraves lost power? From what I can see they still have their fief and title after the breakup and still have the support of the royal family, as well as the ability to grant titles to others like the protag.

Given that powerful feudal families like the Redgraves source their power from their massive domains, wealth and army that comes from it. I assume the marriage between the prince and Angie was arranged by their parents because the Redgraves were so powerful and royal family wanted to stabilize their kingdom. The opinions of children like Angie and the prince shouldn't matter.

If the prince unilaterally decided to break off the arranged marriage over their parent's wishes, logically the Redgraves should become more powerful after. As royal family would be embarrassed and want to compensate the Redgraves to smooth things over and not give them a reason to rebel no?

No. It was more complex than that.

Honestly, I'll just be summarizing volume 3 spoilers if I said more. But hey.... If you dont mind, I dont mind either

That makes no sense, the marriage agreement came about because the Redgraves were dukes and were the 2nd most powerful family in the kingdom, not the other way around. This sort of thing commonly occurs both in fictional medieval works and real life history. It's not really complicated.

I don't know to what degree of nobles support the Frampton faction as I haven't read the novels but if the queen knew of a possible coup de tat, wouldn't she be even more inclined towards the Redgraves? Actually if she knew of the Frampton faction planning a coup, wouldn't the coup already be dead? As all she had to do was to get the king to strip the Framptons of their title and fief and divide Frampton lands and wealth amongst the loyalist nobles. Or if they resist, smash them with Imperial and loyalist armies.

Of course this wouldn't be possible if ALL the nobles were on the Frampton's side, but if that were the case then that's a whole different can of worms as the royal family would no longer be the current one but the Framptons.
