A common thing in webnovels is that for the first (And sometimes second) arcs, the author will experiment until he finds a direction he seems comfortable with and then settle the plot in that direction... Tate no Yuusha forgot that last part.

While technically it was a problem during the first season (We had basically three totally different things with very different tones, and the anime was sadly hindered by trying to find a "middle tone" between then), I thought that the end of the third arc gave us the direction it would go from then forward... I was wrong.
Why do we (Quite literally) PAUSE the current plot in order to start one that is essentially structured like filler?
Why does the author thinks that dropping out of nowhere that there are other types of isekai'd heroes other than our four in that world that were never even mentioned before in episode two?

I know it was always chaotic, to the point that Raphtalia's growth was decided in a forum poll, but this is a bit too much for me...

the adaptation for season 2 is all over the place. Introducing characters late and making it seem like the third arc and this arc have no connection because of how much content they skipped in the manga.

Idk man, seems fine to me. Turtle dude yagga is great imo. Season 2 still seems good to me.
The right mindset when watching an anime is hoping that it will break your top 10

it's easier to understand if you look at the manga around chapter 43 to 51 where you get to see the parts they skipped in the anime

chances are it will end up like The Promised Neverland where they just skip the part with no plans of adapting it, basically skipping story

in Promised Neverland they skipped an entire arc, arguably one of the best arcs too

They didn't skip a lot since what was skipped doesn't do much to move the plot, but a few characters don't have much soul/watchers didn't get a chance to bond with them cause of what was skipped is all.

Well, Shield Hero's story is pretty bad, so deviating might be something good, extremely unlikely for it to be better, but there is still a possibility

The anime is based on the LN, not the WN.
I wouldn't call a city sized turtle a filler...
The author isn't "pulling things out of nowhere". We're seeing the plot from Naofumi's perspective, and the amount of information he gets was strictly controlled in the first season. So basically he doesn't know much about the world.
The other heroes aren't as strong as the four cardinal heroes that's why they are not that famous.

You act like world building after the first season is a bad thing...

if you can't see that so far this season is a L then ION no.its not the plot. it's just we had high expectations for it since the first season was god tier

I never said that I like this season, or that it's a good adaptation.
This thread was about the author's story telling. And the original LN was not that bad.
