I saw it yesterday, and I thought that it was good. It added more to the story’s lore and I was especially impressed with how the story expanded Geto’s background (he used to be Goji’s best friend and he ran a society that he led himself!).

Given the nature of Demon Slayer and it’s mass appeal, I don’t think that it will happen, but there is a slight possibility that it will happen.

For people mentioning Covid, Jujutsu Kaisen also had more competition since it had to fend itself against The Batman, Uncharted, Spiderman No Way Home. Mugen Train when it aired didn't face much competition.

No offense bro but its only #2 because no other movies are coming out this week. 19 million is extremely low

there was no movie aired that week and competition also increases the popularity of that movie. And yeah COVID should be considered because lockdown was more strict during mugen train than now. Mugen train is no1 in both Japan and US.

Great start for Jjk 0 in North America. This and Kny movie shows that the audience for anime is growing a lot more in the states and worldwide as well. Jjk 0 also got more than 2300 theaters (as compared to Kny's 1600+) which shows that more screening for anime movies is possible.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

what's that slight possibility?
"I think I wanted to attack something. Like betraying people or hurting people. And, well, it's not exactly nice, but hurting the readers too... In all honestly, I feel that's what I really wanted to do. For me, as a reader, when I think, "this manga will remain in my heart," it means, for example, it phenomenally hurt me: It's those kinds of experiences I'm after." - Pajime Hisayama (My favourite hurting author).

That was very predictable. The anime did so well and it was marketed and promoted all over social media. MAPPA eating good, good for them.
I sometimes forget to finish my sentences.

This could be due to the heavy marketing that Crunchyroll and Funimation plastered everywhere just as soon as it was announced that it was being released into US cinemas. There is even merchandise relating to the movie. Think of this as what Illumination (or Universal Pictures with the company) does with every film (including the upcoming Mario film) and what happened with Demon Slayer prior to this moment.
