I just picked up the manga where the anime lefts off (chapter 32 I assume) and found an unknown character.

. I also found some major differences between chapter 32 and the last episode of the show. Can someone explain why?

I don't remember the exact chapter That's why read the manga from chapter 25 for better understanding and yeah that is a new character that didn't appear in anime so what is it that unusual.Although I still recommend you to read from chapter 1 because directly reading a manga from half way is not that good.

Well obviously because it doesn’t adapt beyond chapter 30 or something. There’s no point to introduce a new character if they’d conclude the anime in 12 episodes

Doesn't feel like a "new" character to me. Judging from how the gems talked to them it looks like they have been introduced for a while now (at least before the anime ends).

Anime original ending.
Plus, it ends at chapter 31… but go read it from chapter one.

The anime has an anime original ending whereas the manga goes on with the story. So the last episode was like' "Read the manga to find what happened next".
But I'm still waiting for season 2.....

Since there are two peoples (include you) recommend me to read it from the start so I guess I should. But maybe only after 6 months or else so I could forget everything I have watched for best experience XD

ghost is a new character that we meet only on chapter 30 something. it's not that in the anime they missed him. also the last episode of the anime teases the option of a new season that didn't come yet

The anime skips a few chapters to make it a cliffhanger ending. There is like one major thing they leave out (I think maybe more). I would start at 25 if you are determined to not read the parts the anime adapted but would recommend that you start from beginning.
