Honestly no. Not anytime soon. Although, Does it need one?
The OG adapted the whole manga (Minus the last mini saga but that part received an OVA not too long ago) and improved some stuff here and there so if anything would be a downgrade with better visual.
YYH is a classic and should remain untouched because it was already great.

No I don't think Yu Yu Hakusho will get a reboot. I haven't read much of the manga, but the anime is a pretty faithful adaptation. It covered the entire manga too. I belive that most older anime get a reboot for a couple reasons. There is too much filler (Dragon Ball Kai). The manga is either finished or more chapters have been released (Hunter x Hunter, Full Metal Alchemist or Hellsing). Yu Yu Hakusho doesn't really fall under either.

I think it's great the way it is. The 90's style and setting fits the show very well.

I thought the original did a great job plus the ending was kinda rushed by togashi so he could get onto hxh anyways so I think it's fine where it's at. I can understand it may be difficult for some newer audiences(especially with shows like demon slayer that have movie level animation). Although this series had great voice acting for both English and original sub as well as good animation for it's time I still go crazy over dark tournament arc.

last I heard their was to be a continuation two years ago and then nothing was heard since then.so it's anyone's guess what's going on and a Google search got me nowhere after that amount of time

As somebody who finished the series earlier this year, there is no point in rebooting it. The series had basically no filler, the voice acting has aged like fine wine, and while the visuals haven't aged as well they're far from terrible. What would a reboot actually offer?

I wouldn’t expect one any time soon probably 20 years at least if ever there is even a reboot. Honestly though I don’t really think it needs one since it’s aged really well and all the content from the manga has already been adapted.

even if yu yu hakusho gets a reboot due to the live action netflix show scheduled to come out fall 2023 it’s 100% not gonna be pierrot. now sure pierrot gets a decent amount of hate but their adaptation of yuyu hakusho in the 90s was literally perfect. another thing is the reboot is almost guaranteed to have way less episodes.

tl;dr people are assuming there could be a reboot due to yuyu hakusho live action netflix series

I don’t think it needs one, it’s more than fine just the way it is. That being said though, that OVA from 2018 was pretty cool. But iirc that was the last piece of manga to adapt.
