if you were to buy any type of manga like jujitsu kaisen dorohedoro berserk etc would you want it as a physical copy or a digital copy of the manga if you buy it physically you can feel the book and every page and would also look good in a collection but with digital its in your phone you can still access it at any time but you would probably need wifi in order to access the book (i have no experince with digital books so if this is wrong my bad) but in the end which one would be your personal preference

Physical or piracy. I've never paid for a digital comic. Not saying I won't ever, but I don't see the appeal right now. I like paper because it gets me away from my monitors/TV. It's also useful when the power goes out. Last year, I read a whole 150 page manga through one of our outages. It's not good to place all your eggs in one basket, meaning make all your media digital. Things happen. Manga is too expensive, though. I only own a few series.

Personally prefer Physical simple because it's a good feeling having the book in your hand rather than reading from a device.

I still like physical copies, it feels more like reading to me. Also a shelf filled with manga I like looks really nice.

Should I buy all ONE PIECE volumes digitally? OK, but over time, what if the company has gone bankrupt? Their servers will shutdown, and then, I'll lose all the volumes I bought digitally.

Paper print manga is the safest way. Sure they are a pain on the ass moving them from one apartment to another, but hey, they make your shelf looks so good.

In the end, nothing last forever. Neither physical, nor digital.

I just can't get into reading digitally. I don't think it's lesser (or better), but it's just not getting me into the reading mood.

What's more likely to happen, the company going bankrupt or your physical collection catching fire or being stolen? Actually, I think the biggest threats to most people's physical collections of anything is poverty. I've read so many stories of people selling their movies, games and whatever to make ends meet after they lost their jobs or got a big medical bill or legal fine.

At least with physical copies selling them is an option. If people are buying second hand digital copies of things that's news to me but I'm also a boomer so...

Second hand digital is buying account that already had the goods on it. People sell playstation network and Xbox live accounts.

Off topic boomer meme so dead. I doubt you are in your 60/50s. Consider you said you had kid recently.

Natural disasters or fire in house sure would make a great loss to everything you own, and yeah financial problems force people to sell the most treasured they own to get through some ordeal/dept. Life sure is harsh for the mid-class, but ain't for the rich who owns collections of whatsoever.

I prefer physical copies. I get distracted very easily and it takes me forever to read a single page on my phone, my pc, etc. Give me an actual book and I do 1 volume in 20min

I’d take physical over digital every time. I have a small collection currently but finding and affording physical manga is a whole other story so I read online.

that's true out here in canada you can barely buy any manga because half of the time the manga is either out of stock or extremely expensive take tomie for example its going for $150

I read manga only digital, I just got really used to having a lot of collections digital and I really prefer it that way. Simply for storage reasons. I also feel like reading digital manga feels the same as reading physical manga. For books I prefer to have a physical one because it feels inferior to read on any digital device.

I read manga online at the moment just because I'm not able to afford them. But if I had the money and had to choose between purchasing a physical copy and a digital copy of a manga, I would go with the physical. It can be tiresome looking at a screen most of the time.

I think they really should sell it as a combo without extra price added on. Buy a paper copy and you get a digital copy too as a backup or to read in different situations. If it had to be one or other in case of purchasing I would rather a physical copy. When you buy digital things a lot of companies these days don't actually give you true ownership over it and even can remove your access and delete your files. Only drawback I see with physical copies is it's not as durable main issue being ink coming off from your fingers touching the pages in some prints.

I prefer digital which doesn't take up any physical space in the house and saves on shipping cost, it would be easier for me in case I decide to move elsewhere and also easier for other people to deal with after I die.

Not that I'm reading Manga regularly or anything, but, they still have all these hundreds of pirated Manga sites, and nobody seems to give a fuck that they must shut them all down.

But, on another hand selling Manga digitally like Amazon does with stupid heavily DRMed Kindle crap, instead of just selling .Epub/or.PDFs are also just a turn-off.

Physical copies are better for me, they feel so good, and if volumes are good looking, they are almost like decoration in the room
If I can pick, I will always choose physical manga

Also art looks nicer in person then through the screen, at least to me

I don’t really buy anything related to anime or manga full stop. I just don’t have both the money and the time to indulge in that side of things. I do like reading and I prefer it when it is physical. I buy a lot of music and when I buy music, I always buy it as a CD because I like to feel like I get something for my money, I enjoy the experience and I think it is often cheaper. I think I would feel the same way with anime or manga. I would feel like I would have a more enjoyable experience if I were to be holding it physically and, in some cases, it could be cheaper perhaps.

It's so much better reading the actual manga in your hands and I feel very lucky to own my favorite manga collection <3
