In the final episode its shown a sign with a message that says that it would be a 2nd season but, maybe not, it was the same with sekierei

Monster Musume is a very popular manga in its niche. Probably yes, maybe the problem is that the Studio in charged does not want to or they cannot afford to continue because other projects keep piling up. Eventually it will happen as it has been the pattern recently: Everything getting another season after many years so who knows.

I feel the same way. That being said, no game no life still hasn't gotten a season 2 either, so it could go both ways.

Lots of somewhat old animes have been resurging with new seasons, I personally don’t think this will but at this point who really knows

I don't understand why it hasn't gotten a season 2 yet. It's pretty big especially for an ecchi harem anime that has non human love interests.

That was Because the AUTHOR Died! So the Season 2 of Highschool Of The Dead is Impossible to Create unless Someone adopt the Anime and Continued it..

This show and series has always been very popular in it's circles so the demand is there. The main issue is studio's getting so much work they have to put stuff on the back burner and this is most likely one of those cases. It's only been in the past 2 or 3 years, basically around Covid time, where older shows and shows you'd not expect are getting new seasons, remakes and demands for new seasons.

I don't like getting my hopes up but because of how popular this series is within its genres, it's one I do think will get a second season.

Although it's just speculation on my part though so don't take this as fact or anything because there has been no news. That being said there's been no actual refusal of a second season either. If the studio doesn't wanna do another season, they'd probably hand it off to another. Just gotta wait and see but with shows like Devil Is A Part Timer, Overlord, Bleach and many more getting news seasons, some having up to a decade since the last episode release, it's not bad to hold a little hope.
