| As an Indonesian, at first glance, I thought the song that Yuzu sang alludes to a song called "Ibu Pertiwi" or "Mother Land" in english, composed by Kamsidi Samsuddin in 1908. Just a bit of history but "Mother Land" is a national personification of Indonesia, an embodiment of the homeland of Indonesia. Since prehistoric time, various ethnic groups in the archipelago have respected the spirit of nature and the power of the earth, they liken it to a mother who gives life, as a goddess of nature and the environment. Yeah it's a short history but pretty much most Indonesian here knows about this song and when some of us were childrens, we sing this song a lot during independence day so until now, this song is something that can be straightly remembered when we hear a single verse of the song :> Not sure if this is the original but this song provides a similar chord and rhythm with the one suzu sang :) |
