I just want to make sure I am not going crazy here. But am I the only one who feels the show has gotten a lot worse? And before manga fans say anything, I have felt like ever since the end of the Yakuza arc the story has just gotten worse and worse. I just want to know if I am alone in thinking the series has fundamentally lost a lot of its early quality?

As a manga reader, the festival and 1a vs 1b arcs certainly were the weakest arcs that didn't seem too necessary. After the 1a vs 1b I feel the quality only goes up

I think a lot of people would agree. But the newest episode was quite good and gave me hope

The animation quality definitely got worse. If you compare the 5th season to it's manga source, you would see that the manga is 1000 times better.
When it comes to the plot itself, yes, after the yakuza arc we got a few boring arcs, until the current MVA arc, which is one of the best in the series.
Furthermore, Shigaraki's origin was adopted perfectly, so I hope we will see a positive change soon.

Is just sad how the last episodes are very good, the start of this 5th temp was horrible and Bones did a terrible job only to focus in the film

Season 4 wasn't good, season 5 is kinda nice, though, I don't like the changes in animation, the excessive use of CGI, the drop in quality in the animation, this isnt what bnha used to be

Yes. There is drop in quality and they are not following the correct sequence as the manga should have gone but rather shuffled a bit. But once this arc is over I assure you the next arc is gonna be the best!!

These arcs are kinda fillers. After the Yakuza arc, Horikoshi had to integrate Eri into the story so he filled it with the festival arc and after that, he had to bring on Deku's new power, for that he used class battles.
Every Shounen manga goes through a low point in the story. If you follow the manga then you know that good things are coming in the future.
I also believe that the anime caught up to the manga during season 4 that's why we also observed a slow pace in anime.
Now the manga is at a good distance from anime. Wait for season 6.

Animation quality got worse, 1A vs 1B is considered one of worst arcs as Horikoshi was sick at the time. MVA is considered as 3rd best arc but due to movie bones did only 1 ep justice. But if Bones doesnt make a movie in time for s6 then itsscary hours.

You are a little too late in realizing this, but past two episodes were decent enough atleast of what we have this whole season

There's been quite a big drop for me, its easily the worst season in the series so far, the last arc has been completely unwatchable. I can't wait to get back to the hero academia, these b grade villains are just so boring.

As an anime watcher, the festival arc was completely unnecessary. I mean, if the main objective for that was to make Eri smile, go watch a comedy movie or something (seems more practical (to me)). The 1A vs 1B fight could've been condensed into 7-8 eps instead of doing that to the MVA Arc.
I just hope they stop making movies after this at least until the ending of the show. Depending on the ending, they could make an anime original story following the conclusion. Because at this point, the movies are basically liabilities to the actual show.

Don't know what you're talking about, story is far better than early seasons. Animation quality is really bad though.
Doesn't matter, season 6 will blow everything out of the water. Just hoping animation will be great, everything else is top tier.

You're still hyping up season 6 after everything Bones did. 😂

As a manga reader, I think the anime started to dip in quality with the Provisional License Exam. They stretched out the arc with filler that distracted away from some of the few things the arc was trying to do. Then the Overhaul arc was disappointing because it was just better in the manga. After that, I thought they actually handled the Festival arc fairly well, and I enjoyed that. Then they ended the Pro Hero arc in the middle of the arc in season 4, and so the ending felt a bit awkward in season 5. A vs B was one of the weaker arcs in both the anime and manga, and while the anime did elevate some things they also dragged it out far more than they should have (especially given their treatment of MVA). I'm not sure how to feel about the Endeavor Agency arc because of the rearrangement. I don't think the shuffling did it any favors. Now with MVA, while the most recent episode was a decent adaptation, for the most part, they have been doing the manga and the arc a disservice. MVA has to be the worst adaptation I've ever seen from Bones, with no competition. It's shocking.

In contrast, I think the only dips in quality in the manga were the License Exam and A vs B arcs.
