| Not really but i highly recommend watching it, its worth watching but definitely before watching fmab because if you watch fmab first your gonna hate the 2003 version and probably shit on it the rest of your life, but if you watch the 2003 version first you'll enjoy it more because you won't have to better remake version to compare it to |

Just do what you want kiddo On the one hand I totally see what they and others are trying to say and hey if your the sort of viewer who puts every anime you've seen on a sliding scale of comparison, then this person is definitely correct. However if your like me and take each anime as an individual piece of media(as much as is possible, sequels withstanding) then you should be more then cable of loving 03 after brotherhood. It takes darker turns in places, expands on certain backstories and in a sense just feels like an alternate route in a visual novel or time travel anime. Combine that with its on the whole great production values(it's sense of direction, tone, ligthning and music in particular) and as long as you don't just make pointless comparisons between it and 09, then you'll love it for the magnificent work that it is in its own rigth. Point in case, I watched FMAB first and FMA some years later and I think there both masterpieces in their own ways😎👍. |

| The start is WAAAAAAAAY better handled here than in Brotherhood (so much so that I just dropped Brotherhood honestly). If you're looking for the best experience, just read the manga though. |

| FMAB is just a remake of FMA but there are some things shown in FMA that were not shown in FMAB and vice versa although FMAB has a bit more. |

| Watch this for the beginning and relationship, and Brotherhood for the end. |
