unable to watch Anime and only certain Manga

so for quite a long time(at least 2 years), i haven't been able to watch Anime properly, either older Anime and whatever new Anime that came out during the passing seasons(and that is despite planning to watch at least 1 or 2 Anime each season), with only very few exceptions of Anime that i was really hyped about from way before. also as a sort of compensation for that, i started reading quite a lot of Manga and I'm currently reading roughly 70 Manga's weekly, however, even with Manga most of what i can muster myself to read are of the short low quality(relatively speaking) types mainly romance\comedy or "trash isekai". i can't bring myself to watch Anime probably because i hate not being able to control the pace and i feel like it's a waste of time even if in reality i just read Manga or watch videos and waste the same amount of time that i could have just watched Anime episode, and with the Mangas, i have to admit it's hard for me to start new stories that are "heavy" with depressing tropes like death(of good\innocent characters) and tragic and such.
are these things familiar to any of you guys from your own experiences? any suggestions that might help to overcome them a bit?

In the case of manga, no sorry, unless you find a manga that really interests you, you'll have to make do with the short ones.

In the case with anime, I had that fear 15 years ago, I'm 30 now and it was unfounded, in my case. But in your case, why not try watching anitubers reacting to anime episodes. That will either work as a substitute, or it may tempt you to try watching an anime.
