Will I still be able to enjoy the show or is it just ruined for me? I’ve been wanting to watch it for a while now, I like the music genre and Your Lie in April looks really good.

Edit: Thanks for the replies looks like I’ll be watching it. 🙏

If you want me to prepare a rope for the sake of hanging yourself, forget it. But… If it's a rope for the sake of pulling you up from Hell, no matter how many ropes it takes, I'll prepare them for you. ~Sakata Gintoki

I have a fair idea of which spoiler you're talking about, and the same happened to me. No worries, there is much more to it than that one spoiler, but I'm not sure what you know. The journey to the end is still amazing and worth a watch.

Major spoiler? I watched this anime even knowing how it will end. I’m sure that’s the biggest spoiler possible. Even despite that, I found the anime so emotional, with the different main “arcs” and stories. The build-up to the ending was definitely amazing, the music, OP and ED, character art, basically everything was enough for me to classify it as one of my favourite anime’s. I’ll be honest though, if I hadn’t known the spoiler, the anime would have hit differently, despite that, the show was still emotional and left a huge impression on me.

It is, the spoiler which I assume you know is already kinda predictable but knowing it will not diminish the beauty of the show. Strongly recommend watching it.

Yes
It is still worth watching.

Cause it's one of the few animes where the journey you go along with it is what matters.

And it's worth every minute you watch.

Even if you know a major spoiler,
There's no way you can feel the emotions you'll feel if you watch it.

I believe I know the major spoiler you are referring to and I was also spoiled before watching the show. Even though I was spoiled, I thought the show was amazing and I would finish the show if I were you. Of course, the impact would be greater if you hadn’t known the spoiler but either way, the show is still great.

It wasn’t spoiled for me but was super obvious with what was going to happen because everyone constantly says this anime is so sad and it’ll make you cry etc etc

Despite the predictable ending, I personally enjoyed the journey of the MC the most. Weirdly the spoiler I think you are referring to was kind of like the icing on the cake, like a metaphor to support the MC’s character development. His journey and growth is worth the watch despite the ending/spoiler.

Looking back it’s not the spoiler specifically that gets you, it’s it’s context and scene, people who know what your talking about know the scene and even if u know if it’s extremely emotional. Could be my nostolgia glasses but Arimas trip is certainly worth the watch even without the happy ending

Question, do u think it was the best ending? It kinda just seems like he’s in a worse place than he is when the show starts, I feel like the rest of the show is sad enough to where it doesn’t even even out in the end, no one is happy necessarily. Jw do u think it could have been better

So it’s been a few years since I watched this show and I can’t remember my entire feelings on the ending aside from “that wasn’t as sad I expected it to be, but maybe I feel underwhelmed due to the hype”.
I don’t want to discuss the ending too much because 1) spoilers for op and 2) I have bad memory and it’s been a while lol
In my opinion the ending didn’t really leave a big impact on me, and that’s why I said I much preferred the journey I experienced throughout the show. It’s similar to how I feel about Erased - the ending is whatever but the actual story itself was really intriguing and gripping for me. In Your Lie in April, I enjoyed seeing the relationship between Arima and music. Within the world itself, of course the ending is a tragedy, but as a narrative and my opinion as a viewer, I didn’t particularly think it was strong. Like I said, it’s predictable and in that sense yes, it could have been better. The fact that it’s a tragedy isn’t my problem, but the execution and build up of it is.
I hope that answers your question! Sorry if my response is too long and all over the place haha

i’m sure i know what spoiler you mean. even if you know what happens, you might cry. it’s most definitely worth a watch. it’s more about the experience and the beauty of the animation, story, and illustrations.

you'd probably figure it out anyway early on, cause as someone already mentioned, talking about how sad the show is in itself kinda does spoil it

how much you'd enjoy it would depend on how much you value not knowing 100% what's gonna happen

It was also spoiled for me but even with it being spoiled your heart is not ready. Let us know how you liked the show. It is easily my #2 favorite show of all time behind Violet Evergarden both of which I consider Masterpieces and Anime of a generation.

The monologues and quotes were really appealing for me even though I predicted the way it ended. Just try to watch and enjoy it for what it is and don't expect it to something. Go with an open mind. Try getting immersed.
Subjectivity is a joke on MAL. If you implicitly bring in subjectivity in your counter argument, you've already lost the debate. Also this website is a fankid infestation , have pity on those kids by ignoring there quotes as they have absolutely no clue what exactly is going on.

As someone who just finished the show a few minutes ago and started it knowing the spoiler you're probably talking about, I'd say yes. I enjoyed my entire experience.

Nope not really worthed i have been tried it recently n the show enough flat n didnt fulling expectation based score rate except u have sensitive emotional / ever get violance from ur parents

Anyways what are u looking for from this anime, Sad story ? Anohana, Angel Beats, Plastic Memories far better in this section. Music ? Nodame Cantabile, Sakamichi Apollon, Hibike euphonium far better though in this section although all of them mentiioned have lower score than Your Lie In April
