I rated season 5 above most other seasons honestly. I dont even understand what you are trying to say. That Erina was on some pms ?? I thought it made sense to split them up this arc otherwise what do you want to see happen. The last development we needed character wise was Erinas mother and I think it did this perfectly. If yah mom abandoned you like that wouldn’t you be a little depressed also?

The main issue is involving NTR in a thrilling cooking anime. There was no need for the NTR approach. There could be another way to develop the hype for the climax.. if you remember the 1st season and how much exciting and hype it was just by involving Souma in some challenges with people who think they're superior to him!

In this season, however, hype was built on cucking and irritation, it's really really different and it felt gross!

Erina shouldn't have submitted to the Asahi bastard, it's not convenient to ignore sense just to perform character development, taking into consideration that she has had serious character development during the previous 2 seasons. She was freed from her dad's control! and that actually took a long time and was achieved gradually.

No, fam... to submit to Asahi's will and accept to marry him and cuck MC even after Souma's victory against the bastard Asahi!!

But it made me anxious throughout the season.. I wanted to know what's gonna happen, that's way it ruined my enjoyment.

I know you wouldn't expect ntr from Food Wars, it doesn't fit.. that's why I cringed!

Yeah, that's the conclusion of what it felt to me!
It's not actual ntr, but taking that approach to build up for the climax.. doesn't feel good.

Shokugeki no Souma was already done to rubbles the moment Asahi and his cringey magic inhuman skill appeared, this anime should've stopped in previous season.
