Hi,

This anime has got me into thinking of the anime/reality.

From my point of view, does it not consider as bad( unable to think of the correct word) in some way. For example, a male has a crush on a female where she works as rent a girlfriend. Since the male is aware of his crush meeting other males.. In addition, the Rent a girlfriend services it offers, would it go beyond to offering s*x (I dont believe there, My apologies if I am wrong) .

If you were the male/ vice versa dating a rented girlfriend/boyfriend and knowing they are dating the oppisote sex, how does it make you feel

This is PROSTITUTION in disguise. Yes, no sexual thing but still sounds prostitution for me. And it’s sadly disturbing

The world is cruel, ugly and pitiful. Let's watch anime and make it colorful

this is not prostitution, it's called escort service.
There are many kind of rental service. For entertainment, sports, festivals and so on. When someone rents a woman (or man) for a specific intention, it doesn't mean it ends into sex at all.
You can rent people for own intention when you need someone who shall accompany you because there are things you can't (or don't want to) do alone like visiting a festival. Even if someone acts like a partner in relationship or as daughter/son (or whatever), this is not prostitution.

B2T:
Such hypothetical question. It's hard to answer when you never had such a case.
So, it's "i don't know how i would feel".

My apologies, I couldnt think of the right words to convey. In regards to rental service in specific I mean like renting a girlfriend. Could there be possiblitiy that it would involve intercourse in the process?

I understand the service this anime/manga is showing, is purely intended as make believe, either to keep up appearances, for emotional healing, not feeling alone or building confidence. When Ruka comes by Kazuya's apartment for the first time, and sees Chizuru enter it, she is clearly surprised, because that is a strict no-no and could even be considered a valid ground for making a complaint, which might possibly even result in a contract getting terminated. While the 'clients' in their minds may indulge in more than just holding hands and pretending to be a couple, just like Kazuya has a 'vivid imagination' to put it mildly, it appears the rules are simple, no physical contact and no emotional attachment, just purely acting like being close to the other.

I agree with what you have mentioned and well spotted in regards to Ruka seeing Chizuru entering Kazyua's apartment. I could be wrong but wont dfferent rent a girlfriend agency have different rules (maybe)

Could be different agencies have different rules, but I understand Ruka was with a different agency, yet Chizuru immediately felt uncomfortable when Ruka confronted her with breaking that rule. This likely implies her angency has the same rules, and these are perhaps widely accepted guidelines. Especially since minors can also be rental girfriends.

Its funny how some people try to find a deep message in a generic harem rom/com anime.

Half true. The other half is more realising that renting girlfriend exist in some countries and makes you think about it

They're called escorts in every other country, nothing profound there.

I see, didnt realise that. Thought escort is a term to protect/guard

The geisha tradition in Japan historically was not supposed to directly involve sex either, but of course it happened often enough, people being people, after all, and social lines being naturally fuzzy on occasion.

Japanese cultural storytelling sort of even fetishizes the idea of a formal yet devoted relationship, so we see things like maid and butler cafes in otaku culture, plus anime that have characters with such features as formal traditions and uniforms, from devoted bodyguards/butlers to battle nuns and maids.

Back in real life escort situations, things just happen sometimes, and the formalized relationships can turn into more real ones, as is constantly being teased in this anime. It would be naïve to think this never happens just because people are supposedly being so very professional all the time.

True I agree. I would think there a fine line drawn from going to see a movie,a date to intercourse. At the same time, humans have different minds and this could cause some problem such as Stalking, demanding to have sex (This is fine if both oppisote sex are happy and the consuquences (if there is in regards to agency) like contract being terminated .
