As y'all already know that not all countries have legal access to anime cuz sites like crunchyroll etc aren't available everywhere.

Pirating is like the only way for some people but I feel like even we who do pirate would really like to support the artists and the anime producers as much as possible.

So I'm really curious as to what you guys thoughts are on this topic.

I buy DVDs mostly. I have a region free DVD player so I just buy the stuff I can't watch legally. Sometimes I might obtain a file in a way that may be legal or may not be if the anime is long out of print or too pricey

If you can afford it, you can import anime merch...but it can get crazy expensive.

There are tons of pirate sites that let you download anime in high definition. For that route, I'd suggest using a VPN for security/privacy. Or you could just go to one of the many streaming sites to watch in lower quality.

Not sure what else to say. If there are no legal sites in your country and you can't afford to buy the merch, piracy would appear to be your only option.

Edit: Oh, wait, I have another idea. You could potentially use a proxy to access (and pay for) the legal memberships not available in your country. This may still be technically illegal, though.

It's so easy to get away with doing it illegally that it is surprising that people do

But of course I watch legally, I pay for my Hulu Crunchyroll Netflix Funimation like a good boy...

I don't know how to find any anime merch to support creators though, I've tried looking for anime merch a few times and could only find indie creators on Redbubble and stuff like that.

CDJapan.co.jp is one of the best sites to import the Japanese Blu-ray releases of anime, along with all sorts of other merch. Many of those box sets are over $100 each, though, and often don't even have subtitles.

The American licensors like FUNimation and Sentai Filmworks have their own online shops. rightstufanime.com also comes to mind. And of course, there's Amazon, eBay, or just going to the local supermarkets which can have anime Blu-rays.

There are countless other places to get anime-related merch, but you could spend fortunes on the few I've mentioned as it is.

LOL u won't support artists even if u watch anime in legal anime sites like Crunchyroll. They're corrupt companies.

I'm pretty sure that u need to buy DVD and anime merch but u can ask for more opinions.

I've always watched anime illegally since I don't have the money to pay for legal sites.

try looking for the Pixiv accounts of the source material authors like the mangakas of your favorite anime adaptations since i heard Pixiv got some Patreon like options there

for anime studios a lot of them have mechandise they sell on their website like t-shirts and posters

or if you do not have any money at all and want to contribute financially then watch anime on your local TV for the anime industry to get more TV license profit in the future

I find the writing in anime off illegal websites is often not as gripping as actual legalized streaming sites for anime. I also find old-school anime to have way better writing (though not as developed) as modern anime. Even still, I tend to go for anime that provides the best writing in the subtitles, so often stick to legal websites like CR or buy the BD's to specific anime that I really liked.

Also, reading manga usually always has top-quality writing.
