Claymore, as I started watching the series when it was around ep 8, and I needed to know what happened next. I think I made the right decision in the end though... amazing manga.

Haha, i believe my first one was either Dragonball or Ironfist Chinmi. I was so young I really didnt understand what was going on that well - i could only pick up a few words/phrases. So I just looked at the pictures and used my imagination! (too young to read it properly)

Many years later, I found it again and only been able to own a copy of a few volumes though.. Damn >_< if only i could read back then! (For both Dragonball and Chinmi. Dragonball was in Chinese and Chinmi was in English)

Sailor Moon, about 6 years ago, when i first discovered there was manga in english.

When I was little, I found one or two copies of the Sailor Moon manga on sale at a local bookstore (that was the only manga sold there back then; oh, how the times have a-changed). I didn't even know it was a manga, though. I just saw it and was all, "OMG! Mom, they have Sailor Moon comics here!" XDD

very true, back then the manga selection was very limited. Its amazing how much selection there is now.

The first ever manga I read was Fruits Basket.
What you saw at the castle on that windy night ,and what you saw at the bridge last night .. how I smiled, never utter a word to anyone. If you dare speak .. I will find where you are .. And I will kill you. Kill you. I will rip you apart .. crush your bones And eat your flesh.. I will drink your blood. I will .. devour you.

Graphic novels, manga included, were never really my thing. Deathnote is the first and only one I've completed; I dabbled with Karin (AKA Chibi Vampire) but didn't think it was good enough to be worth purchasing.

My first manga was Dragon Ball. ^^ I had seen few episodes of DBZ from tv and I was interesting about it...it was back then when I didn't know anything about manga or anime! Then I noticed that one of my friend was reading DB manga. She borrow vol. 1-7 and then I started to buy it in myself. Unfortunately she quit of reading it but luckily she allowed me to bouhgt her vol 1-4! Vol 5 and 6 I also bought later.

That was my first step to became fan of anime/manga ^^
