This is an anime-friendly movie adapted fan-fiction of Luc Besson's quiet but shattering masterpiece "The Professional" [1994] starring Jean Reno and Gary Oldman. Enjoy!

Leon stared across the table at the quaint Italian restaurant in Chicago were his mentor and friend Tony who owned the eatery was describing the new assigned assassin mission. Leon was a perfect but awkward assassin, and Tony was his guru friend who found him special assassin missions for various groups in North America. Today, Tony was describing a mission involving the infiltration of a crime boss's hotel suite and execution of his henchmen and the delivery of a warning to leave Chicago forever. Leon quietly finished his glass of whole milk Tony's given him and headed to TG1 hotel to complete the assassin mission for his guru friend. This was Leon's life. Leon cut down the hotel guardsmen and then climbed up the balcony of the crime boss's suite and used his silencer to target and shoot each target squarely in the forehead and in good cadence.

Leon was walking home after the successful completion of his newest assassin mission for Tony the Italian. He decided to stop at the grocer near his apartment to pick up some whole milk. He then went to his humble room, ironed his clothes, watched classic movies on TV, saw the latest scientific discoveries regarding the Coronavirus, and went to sleep wearing his sunglasses, which is something Leon always did and did practically everyday. He'd await his next mission for which Tony would pay him again and save some of the salary for Leon's special retirement account. Leon lived the quiet but effective Chicago life of a perfect modern-day assassin.

The people living next door to Leon in his apartment building was a drug dealing household badly managed by a lackadaisical father named Lou and his part-time prostitute wife. The very odd couple had three children, a teenage bratty daughter and a younger more precocious but more moral daughter named Matilda and an infant son. One day, a group of Chicago policemen, including a branch chief named Stansfield, showed up at Lou's door and demanded he pay them their share of the dirty Chicago drug money. Lou insisted he wasn't being evasive, but the somewhat disarmingly cold Stansfield bluntly explained he simply wanted his cut for his men. Stansfield told Lou he'd return the next day for the money or to bring pure hellfire.

The next day came, and the lackadaisical Lou didn't have Stansfield's money and wasn't concerned about the obviously evil Chicago policemen's return visit. However, when the clock struck noon, Stansfield returned with his police goons and executed Lou and his entire family single-handedly. However, Lou's middle-child, the precocious but moral daughter Matilda was out getting groceries for her family and only arrived back home to see the brutal crime scene and her murdered family. She wept and decided to just knock on Leon's door, her quiet and mysterious neighbor, rather than going into the orphaned custody of the police and city!

The somewhat bewildered Leon didn't know what to do when he peeped through his door eyehole and saw the young Matilda standing outside weeping with a bag of groceries in her arms. Finally, he decided to let Matilda enter his apartment. The shattered girl told Leon she was all alone now and was grieving the loss of her infant brother who was killed during Stansfield's evil raid. Leon told Matilda he was truly sorry but that he was a loner and couldn't simply adopt a young girl and that she should go to the city orphanage for care. Leon went to the bathroom and while he was there, Matilda decided to open Leon's large case which was sitting on his sofa. To her amazement, she saw in the opened case a handful of very deadly weapons and guns, the kinds only a professional assassin would carry.

MATILDA: You're an assassin, Leon!
LEON: Fine, you know my secret, but I can't keep you here!
MATILDA: You must assassinate the evil Stansfield for me.
LEON: Why?
MATILDA: You're my only hope for revenge.
LEON: Alrght, Matilda; I'll do this one mission for you.

Leon kept Matilda in her modest Chicago apartment and promised her he'd cut down Stansfield and his evil cops for vengeful justice and afterwards deliver Matilda to the orphanage. Leon explained he'd do this one mission for her put of basic human pity, and Matilda proceeded to work in Leon's apartment as a simple housekeeper and friend. She gave him some of the money she knew was hidden in her executed drug dealing father Lou's brutalized apartment after the cops finished scoring and scouring the destroyed place. This was the pact between the precocious Matilda and the assassin Leon. Leon meanwhile began researching the moves and patterns of behavior and network of the evil Stansfield.

Over the course of the next three months, Leon diligently and efficiently cut down Stansfield's evil cops, one by one, and 10 in all, usually cutting their throats, shooting them with his silencer, or breaking their necks. Finally, the furious Stansfield tracked Leon to his Italian restaurant owner and guru friend in Chicago, fat Tony. Stansfield beat Tony until he was forced to disclose to him the location of Leon's apartment. Stansfield showed up the next day at Leon's place, amused he was the neighbor of the family he'd executed three months ago. Stansfield showed up with a group of armed and vested cat-team infiltrators. Fortunately, Matilda was outside with her walkie-talkie and radioed her assassin buddy Leon to inform him the evil Stansfield had arrived with a cat-team of corrupt cops. Leon told his little friend not to worry and to take the money he left with fat Tony and flee to the city Catholic convent and that he'd do his best to meet her there.

Stansfield ordered his cat-team to break into Leon's place with shields and masks, only to find Leon hiding among the roof-pipe raiing like a lizard, proceeding to use his sharp silencer to cut down each of Stansfield's corrupt men by shooting them sequentially by alignment in the head! Stansfield was furious and decided to go up to the apartment with 10 more armed cops, but by then Leon had snuck down the firescape costumed as one of the cat-team infiltrators he'd successfully executed. However, the shadowing Stansfield realized it was Leon in one of the cat-team uniforms who was trying to quetly skulk away from the apartment building, so Stansfield shot Leon in the back with his revolver. Leon was miraculously down for the count!

LEON: You've killed me, but my friend is safe now.
STANSFIELD: You know me?
LEON: I was tracking you for my friend.
STANSFIELD: Yet I still live on, eh?
LEON: Not really; I have an opened grenade in my vest.
STANSFIELD: Damn!
LEON: We die together, Stansfield.
STANSFIELD: I should've figured you were a perfect professional.
LEON: I'm merely a good friend...to Matilda.
STANSFIELD: Damn!
LEON: Money is everything.
