This is facts. Ronin is such a bad ass mech. The Imperial knights and Chaos Knights from warhammer 40k are also awesome.

Agreed. Lost Planet has cool mechs too. Also the lesser-known OG Xbox game Steel Battalion.

TBH I'm surprised nobody mentioned Front Mission and Armored Core before.

the arms are so ridiculously huge compared to the rest of the body. It’s brilliant. This is the thing I remember most from gridman.

if you show me a good looking CG mech,

Earth mechas from Aldnoah.Zero are good imho (even if this show is mediocre overall)

Brutal and simplistic, I like it.
Don't know why people say that CGI mechas ruined the genre or something like that, some shows (especially Satelight mechs) have awesome CGI action. Aquarion Evol, for example.

As a huge Macross fan (especially Delta), I'm choose the Sv-262Hs Draken III, best design in the whole series for me.

I prefer the Fighter form, but Battroid looks good too.

Yep. Not a mecha fan myself, but Aldnoah Zero's designs are great.

I know it´s a basic response, but I feel like it is such a sick design that it marked me the first time I saw it going berserk.

Oh my God, how can I forget Gridman, it is really cool looking but I always thought of it as more of an Ultraman kind of thing, not a mecha

Evangelion is not a mecha, duh. Those who think so, however, are just inattentive and should rewatch the TV series, or the movies.
Lolz what? It's still a Mech, just Bio-Mechanical.

Since when was Mecha a 'dying genre?' Gundam is still one of the most popular franchises in Japan and there are several new Mecha series released each year. Heck, Evangelion 3.0+1.0 is one the most highly anticipated upcoming releases according to MAL. So explain to my hot this particular genre is 'dying'..
what are you talking bout? We haven't had a mecha in like 8 years.
You trolling or do you actually believe that?

This article seems to conclude that Evangelion is in fact a mecha. Especially in Japan it will always be read that way because it follows the tradition of mecha Anime in merchandising.
I think the Yuusha series and Transformers are a better comparison, but I last saw EVA 11+ years ago and don't much care for a pedantic distinction like this.

Aye, Evangelion is a mecha, yet it is not mecha. Eva Units are giant machines that are not really machines. This is Ano Hideaki trolling his fans.

That’s true, that’s true, since it’s more based off of ultraman. Still a cool design nonetheless

Grendizer gets treated so badly in terms of crossover material it's not even funny. Dude makes his grand return to SRW after not appearing or having his plot used since 2008's SRW Z... In a fucking mobile game

Shoji Kawamori's designs are my favourite.

Since when is Evangelion not mecha?

Well, the person who designed them, Yamashita Ikuto, is credited as a mechanical designer. Since the thread is about mecha designs, we're gonna use the broadest definition.
