Unless I miss something, there are some very good reason to solve the mystery in the beginning.

1. Fujioka is her sister and she was the first one being suspected and bullied, there is enough reason to save her from the situation by telling who is the real ghost, no?

2. When it is her turn to be suspected and bullied, there is also a reason enough to stop this kinda thing, no?

3. IIRC, depite being bullied, Mei still want to save everyone for this event, but why didn't she do so in the beginning?

she said she didnt want to use her powers, knowing when someone will die hurts her

also she didnt know that you can stop the curse for a year if you kill the zombie

and finally its a dumb horror story and you cant have that with characters acting rational

They would've had too many episodes left if she talked right away.

yea funny story

she checked who it is out of curiosity (dunno when but she did know which is the point) but she didnt want to tell the mc cuz it would hurt his feelings

when they found out they need to kill that person (fking duh) she still kept it to her self cuz she didnt want to hurt his feelings , also she was gonna tell him at the end of ep 10 when they got interapted

if her actions are stupid and make no sense let me remind you that for the first 4 eps she was acting weird and omnious for no reason other then to fuck with the audience

its a stupid horror that we are not supposed to think about too deeply

Basically doesn’t understand anything about the story, calls it dumb, ends up being dumb himself.

Misaki doesn’t like socializing with other people. Going to the extremes as to not talk with anyone no matter what needs to be said. This is part of her character. She has schizoid personality disorder—I’m not a psychologist, go and search it for yourself.
Misaki wasn’t even sure about her powers in the first place. That’s why she told Sakakibara to show him the ghost picture. If she told other people who the dead person is, no one would believe her. Everyone viewed her as a weird person; someone who can’t be trusted. Not only that, but she would be suspected as the dead person as well. (Which would’ve resulted in what happened betwee Teshigawara and Kazami)

Many people don’t pay any attention, so they go and say it has plot holes; not realizing that everything is explained. Under-explanation and complicated are two entirely different things.

You are reading way into this simple horror story

]Misaki doesn’t like socializing with other people. Going to the extrems as to not talk with anyone no matter what needs to be said.

She doesn't like to socialize with not so close people cuz they think she is a weirdo as they should.

not speaking so often and only when so to a limited range of people =/= not gonna talk no matter what

This is part of her character. She has schizoid personality disorder—I’m not a psychologist, go and search it for yourself.

not really true but sure if you think that's who she is. eh......you don't need to be a physician to explain relativity or basic physics, same goes here.

and to begin with, why identify her with a disorder you clearly don't fully get to explain?. anyways, schizoid personality disorder is basically a nickname for proasocial people. that means nothing

anyone would doubt themselves if they can see ghosts. that's a no brainer. you can easily make sakaki say that in behalf of her and come up with some excuse. not everything has to be straightforward

a dead person is not a living, that's not hard to get.

A simple horror story? Then explain the overabundance of people being confused by the plot.

Ow, then can you explain her character? She fits in every sign of that disorder. If you understand her character, then the story and things that happen in it make sense.
I didn’t explain the disorder here because this isn’t a psychology class. I could easily be called out as a pseudo-intellectual. You can literally google it in the matter of seconds.

It’s not that it’s only Misaki that wouldn’t be trusted when someone suggests who the dead person is, it’s everyone. (Again, remember what happened when Kazami and Teshigawara got in a fight) it’s just that because it’s Misaki, she wouldn’t be trusted more. But Sakakibara wouldn’t be trusted as well.

1. She thought if she when through the deceased thing nothing would happen, also she was only sure her twin sister was the first victim later on.

2. She didn't really care since she was raised in a loveless household so she wasn't seeking the approval of her peers, what most teenagers do.

3. Number 1 answer, when pretending that someone was dead didn't work, she said that she didn't want to use her "powers" to see the colour of death (it is just a lame excuse for not having the series finishing with 5 chapters)
