So did everyone who worked on this movie forget that everyone isn't actually holding a weapon but instead a small palm sized stick?

WTF were Kirito and Eiji doing in the parking garage, swinging their fist and stopping them in mid air as if their swords clashed?

Why does the memory scan need to physically damage the memories to take them.. you literally have an AI device that can scan for certain memories yet you can't simply make a copy?

Also, not really a plot hole but this dialogue was ridiculous (it's right after the monsters showed up at the concert and Yuuna appeared before her father)

Yuuna - "I don't want to come back to life"
Fathher - "you're still at the level of AI where your self-preservation program is making you say this."

The film is full of plot holes as you can expect from sao(but until now I didn't find one in alicization). The only thing thing that was worth to watch it was the animation. The moment where Asuna lost her memories of sao imo was unnecessary drama.

You forgot the Deus Ex Machina named Yui and the amount of time it took kirito to look where the girl pointed.

Just more proof that the dubs have way better phrasing. That's true of 1/2/OS and insanely so of Alicization (no contest seriously). The dub changes the line (I'm paraphrasing) to "I don't want to come back if other people have to die.".

"Your self-preservation program is making you say this. You won't need this form much longer."

Or more likely, there was a translation error in sub lol

They weren't holding sticks, either.

When the swords clash, the Augma device sends a signal to the brain telling it that the swords clashed.

They just don't have the technology to copy selective memories without erasing them. And the guy looks at it as if he's baptising the SAO survivors.

There's one more.
In season 1 when Kayaba's real identity was exposed he said that he was supposed to be the final boss at last floor but in the movie it was a giant monster looking like a woman
I love Monogatari Series

When watching SAO, expect lots of plot holes. At least the animations and fighting scenes are really good. Story is decent if you can just turn off your brain

There would be some plot holes but the ones that you mentioned , I guess I have some answers for them .

For the 1st part - I don't think I understood the plot hole but as much as I got it , I think you forgot that the auguma was kind of a nerve gear with limited capabilities so it can make them believe that they are actually fighting with swords and clashing

For the 2nd part - I think it could damage the brain cells because it would be scanning an entire stadium so that's why they have to increase Its level I guess

3rd part - Watch the dub

The technology in SAO is essentially magic that functions based on the Rule of Cool instead of the Laws of Physics. Even if the Augma were able to lie to your brain and say your swing met resistance, that wouldn't change the fact that your swing had momentum which was not absorbed by hitting something. You'd fall on your face and no amount of fake signals to your brain would stop it. The only way to prevent that would be for Augma to actually control your body and perform counterbalance actions without you knowing, but there is no evidence shown that this happens (also any people watching your fight without Augmas would see it).

The biggest plot hole is that anyone is using the Augma at all. There's no way that something like this device (or any of the prior devices), which directly interfaces with your nervous system could ever get into use by the public without ridiculous amounts of testing and medical trials. The idea of just inventing it and then having everyone using one a year later with no one understanding how it works or what it does/can do to the brain is ludicrous. Then, the idea that the servers weren't immediately shut down once confirmed patterns of memory loss were found and linked to the device is insane, and no, it wouldn't make even the teeny tiniest amount of difference if it were intentional or by accident (why the doctor refused to raise an alarm).

Also, you have to wonder how many times they're going to go through the same plot. How many times are the people in the SAO story going to trust their lives to these devices when so many of them are developed by a dangerous psychopaths?
