Emotional action anime

Hi, I'm new to anime and i completely fell in love but i quickly found things that i like and that i dislike in anime and i have a pretty specific request.
I'm looking for an anime thats action-y, be it crime, fantasy, scifi, historical..., with good characters that i can get attached to (not 12 year old kids please). I also like to get emotional, like to have to think about my anime and i absolutely dont mind open or sad endings. I would also appreciate some romance on the side and a good soundtrack.
The anime that i liked that are kinda maybe a bit like that are:
Berserk!!!, fullmetal alchemist, psycho-pass, Samurai champloo, death note, cowboy bebop.
Anything comes to mind? It would really help))

EDIT: I tend to prefer R rating

Inuyasha+ Inuyasha the Final Act(this has everything you want, It's a emotional roller coaster, and it has one of the top to bes/strongestt romance aspects in all of anime)

Kingdom(there's a hint of romance, but not much at all, however there is not any other anime as epic as this)

and

The Legend of Qin(Aka Qin's Moon) This has all of you want as well

Aside from those, you might want to check out The Legend of Condor Hero(While It's technically not a action anime, it has some of the best fighting scenes. It's emotional, and it has one of the top two best/strongest romance aspects in all of anime)
