Vulnerable MC in anime?

Looking for an anime with somewhat realistic combat, i.e not too much magic like FSN. And at the same time, the main character is vulnerable and not basically unkillable like Afro Samurai. Something like in AoT or Samurai Champloo where the main characters might be good but you don't feel completely safe every time they go fight, it adds to the tension

Maybe Arslan Senki? I can't think of many shows where main characters don't wear plot armor.

I know shounen, I used those two specifically because of the vulnerability of the main characters.
