That's understandable to be honest. Modern hip-hop is way more "linear" compared to older stuff, back in the day they were really free and expressive with the genre as a whole.

im not sure about a second music channel, even if its for a game, it will lead to one of the music threads being ignored (i think ><). the idea sounds interessting, im sure it will move more people to post some songs.

Growing up, I literally wasn't exposed to our country's music (which we call OPM). My Mom would mostly play English classic songs on our stereo, and my Dad has numerous CDs from his favorite international artists. I'd sometimes hear Mambo Number 5, any song from BSB or Phil Collins, etc. And just like with Japanese songs today, back then I had no idea what they were saying haha

The very first song that I really liked is Aerosmith's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing"; it was just so beautiful and powerful when I first heard it, and up to this day it's still one my of favorite songs of all time. My family would even tease me whenever I play this, but hey it's my jam ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@Reverie you're not the only one, was raised an born in Dubai, barely had any Filipino friends to begin with and when i did they were from a tennis club which i stopped attending after a while. My dad would listen to The Eagles, i can still remember Hotel California and how much he loved that song.

@Reverie Sorry to disappoint you but I've spoken English for a really long time, dont worry i understand exactly what you said, i guess we can do both, but ill be responding in english (hope that doesn't bother you :P)

Funny thing is my parents would talk to me in tagalog but i would always respond to them in English, my titas would do the same and they find it somewhat amusing that i understand what they say.

One reason why i dont talk in tagalog is because i would say filipino words with an "american" accent, pretty much the same as when you see character in animes go "ayy c-c-annotooo espp--eak in-glish-u", but think of me trying to pronounce Filipino words with a western accent lol xD

Since @Reverie asked about the group a game was based off in The Arcade, i'm posting it here since it's a music group and therefore better suited for this topic ^^

Morning Musume are a Japanese Idol group that were formed in 1997. They are one of the first "idol" groups in japan to create the concept of a rotational idol group (something that is very popular with idol groups all over the world now, most notably AKB48). They are a group that rotates it members throughout the years, so members "graduate" (meaning they leave the group) while other members join, and the cycle continues. The new members join in batches referred to as "generations". The number of girls in each generation differ, but it's usually 4 members that get added in.

They have "era's" in the group, which mark their most notable moments within their 20 years of activity, those are The Golden Era (1999-2002), The Platinum Era (2008-2010), and The Colorful Era (2012-2014). Of course, they have era's in between those three, but the names of those era's are debatable between fans and staff lol.

We're currently in what some would call "Gradation Era" or simple "New Era", but again, it's arguable since half of the members in this are were in the colorful era. The members of this era are.

(9th) Mizuki, Erina (Riho and Kanon graduated in 2015 and 16 respectively)
(10th) IHaruna, Ayumi, Masaki, Haruka (graduating later this year)
(11th) Sakura (sole generation member)
new era
(12th) OHaruna, Miki, Maria, Akane
(13th) Kaede, Reina

They joy with this group is that despite the changes in lineup and eventually having to say goodbye to your favorite members (which i've had to do twice for this group, it's hard lol), they have great songs and there is always something different going on. They have a huge range of music and styles and lots of girls to choose from so you must find something up your alley somewhere lol

@reverie, I don't think they will be unfortunately, since they're just an idol group rather than a group that does songs for anime. I think the only song that might be added onto ANiUTA (for those who don't know, it's a anime song streaming app, similar to spotify) would be Ima Koto Kara, which was a song for one of the Pre Cure All Stars movie in 2015.

Since i kicked it off with Morning Musume, every once in a while i will be posting random artists for people to check out. Club members, feel free to do the same. Since we all have different music tastes, it will be interesting to see the type of music that will be shared ^^;

Calling all Linkin Park fans! Have you listened to the group's latest effort, One More Light? I thought it was okay. Like most people, I was also surprised about the new sound but it didn't made me less of a fan; to be honest I'm kinda sad how these men are being treated right now, like they've been creating music ever since they released Hybrid Theory (even before that), and to me if they kept recycling their sound I wouldn't anticipate any new material from them. People fail to appreciate that they're still making songs for us.

Look, I'm not saying I'm a "better fan" nor an expert in music alright? And apologies if I offended anyone. Anyway, below are my personal favorite tracks from the album:

@Reverie You know what? LP just blew it. The album was so bad, I'd rather listen to Taylor Swift.

Ever since One More Light went out, I've been listening to their previous songs and contemplating how idiotic they've become.
People NEED another Hybrid Theory. Rock needs an album to push it back to mainstream, or else it will eventually die. Along with LP and others.

Here's an Artist who I really love right now, Logic!

He had an amazing performance at the VMA's last night, i think everyone should watch it.

He talks a lot about a lot of political things in his music, so it's a little dark, but the music and message that he puts out is great.
