Read up to chapter 15 so far. Got a slight gungrave vibe from Tony and Shawn :D Really like it so far. The flashback to his world are pretty good, giving more information on the relationship between the two. I wonder if the man from the graveyard is somehow related to shawn aswell. Edit: Read through the rest. Awesome so far. Hope you get out of that dreamworld soon^^ |

We'll be abandoning the vault soon and move all the stories back to the MG club. Since you're reworking your story, you might want to move it while your at it. Feel free to make a thread there and continue uploading the reworked chapters there. Note that we've decided to get rid of the MSGC/MSGS division. You can use [MSG] as the tag in your title. |

Hopefully MAL doesn't screw this up again :/ but I officially welcome back the Monster Girl Dungeon! Monster girl dungeon: Part 1 You are from a small farming village a few kilometers Northeast of Alnor. Your village is poor, but everyone works hard for what they have and your village has enjoyed peace for many years. Lately however, a rogue monster girl has been stealing away the few men that live in the village in the quiet of night and whisking them away deep into the forest. As you know, men are a rarity in this world, and the few that exist are sought after as a valuable commodity. Even rarer still are heroes that are born into this world with a natural resistance to a monster girl’s seductive power. This is where you come in; you were born with the potential to become a great hero. Now that you’ve turned 18, you must rescue the men who have been captured and return them to their monster girl wives. ***** Day one: Today’s the big day, your first real adventure! You’ve packed a small bag of supplies to assist you on your journey. Supplies: 5 days rations of food: 3 smoked meat and 2 smoked fish 1 water bladder: full 1 Jar of Holstaurus milk: good for 1 use to heal injuries Equipment: You are also equipped with a simple cloth outfit and leather boots. You wield a rusty short sword Before you leave, you take one last look at your family home. Your Lamia mother and Werewolf step mother built this home together with your father many years ago. Your father being a human male did not have as long a life as your mothers, but he still lived to the ripe old age of 130, fathering 15 children between the two of them. He was still virile enough to provide your mother with one last child before he passed away; once thought an impossibility, his only son, you. Unfortunately, you never met him but your mothers always tell you stories of their adventures together. Before you have the chance to head out, your step mother Scarlett returns home. Seeing your bag, she gives you a warm smile and quickly embraces you in a tight hug. ”Your father would be proud to see you today.” She says, pulling away to place a lightly furred hand on your cheek. Respond: A. ”Any advice before I go?” ”Always keep your weapon ready, but don’t hesitate to swap it out for a better one if you have the chance. Never let your guard down, most monster girls won’t hesitate to rape you on the spot if that catch you off your guard.” You nod your head as you absorb her advice. *Warrior's Insight acquired* ”Was there anything else you needed my son?” B. “I wish I could have met him.” ”Your father was a great man, not without his faults and a bit eccentric at times, but he did right by both Nadia and myself. I see him in you all the time.” She smiles as she remembers your father fondly, and places a gentle kiss on your forehead. ” Was there anything else you needed my son?” C. “Fuck you Scarlett, you’re not my mom! You’re just a dog!” You wake up a few hours later with a splitting headache and a fat lip. Your step mother is nowhere to be seen. You use your Jar of Holstaurus milk and head out on your journey. *-1 Jar of Holstaurus Milk* *-5 Luck* D. “Thanks mom, I should be going.” You waste no further time and give your step mother a quick hug and head out on your journey. ***** Stepping out into the main street, you pass by the familiar faces of the villagers you have grown up with. Many offer you wishes for a successful journey and safe return; a few of the girls who had not yet found husbands give you a hug (one also gives you a squeeze on the butt before releasing you). The villagers praise invigorates you and hardens your determination, you press on towards the outskirts of the village where you find your mother Nadia tending to a potato patch. Seeing you, her eyes well up with tears and she rushes over to you and embraces you in her signature bone crushing hug. ”Ooooh my baby boy is all grown up! ” You mother sobs as she continues her torturous hug. You often wonder how your father survived as long as he did being subjected to these hugs day in and day out. She finally releases you and wipes the tears from her eyes. ”You had better be careful, don’t talk to any strange monsters, rest whenever you get tired…” “Mom…” ”Make sure to eat your vegetables and drink plenty of water…” “Mom…” ”If you don’t think it’s safe, you can always come back home, and…” “Mom!... Thank you. For everthing” You say and give your mother one final hug. ”Just be sure to come home safe… Is there anything else you need before you leave?” Your mother asks; she is obviously just stalling for as much time as she can before she has to see you leave. Respond: A. ”Any advice before I go?... You know what… Never mind, I’m good.” Your mother smiles warmly and gives you another, though gentler hug. After you’re released, you wave goodbye and continue on your way, following the path out of the village. B. ”Do you have anything that could help me on my journey?” Your mother thinks for a moment and then her eyes widen in surprise. ”Oh! I almost forgot! I had planned to give this to you before you left. It was your fathers, given to him by my mother many years ago.” She reaches into her knapsack and pulls out an old leather chest piece. It’s decorated with small tribal ornaments on the front and faded paintings of Lamia women dancing. It’s seen better times but it’s certainly better than your cotton shirt. ”The magic faded many years ago, but they wouldn’t have had an effect on you anyways. It might offer some protect and maybe a bit of luck.” She says with a smile, and rubs the chest piece tenderly as she remembers her late husband. You graciously accept the gift and place it over your cotton shirt. *Acquired Leather Chest Piece* ”Was there anything else you needed?” C. ”No mom, damn… Just relax and get off my back!” Your cutting words bring tears to your mothers eyes, who then quickly slithers away sobbing… you’re an asshole… just continue on your way, following the path out of the village… jerk. *-5 Luck* D. ”Where are my sisters? Aren’t they going to see me off?” “With fourteen sisters crying over you leaving, I thought it best that they not see you off, I hope you don’t mind.” She gives you her best supportive smile. ”Was there anything else you needed?” ***** With the village to your back, and the open road ahead of you, you set forth on your journey to save the men of your village and finally become the hero you were always meant to be. **Two hours later** You didn’t realize how boring an adventure could be when you’re all alone. You wish that you could have had a traveling companion like your father had, if only for someone to talk to. You recall the stories your mothers told you of their journeys together, both good and bad. You look up to your father for having braved a world completely unknown to him, and making a life for himself here. There is a subtle movement in the bushes as you approach the forest. Did you ask Scarlett for advice before heading out? Yes: Even when deep in thought, you keep your guard up. Suddenly, a creature leaps out of the bush to tackle you. Anticipating an attack, you quickly brandish your rusty sword, and clip the creature across the jaw with your pummel, dropping the creature like a stone. Your victory is short lived however, as you see the fiendish creature is actually a small Arachne child. A small dribble of blood is pouring from the child’s lip where you struck them and she is on the verge of tears. ”*sniff* I wasn’t.. *sniff* trying to hurt you… I was just *sniff* lonely… WAAAAAAAH” Response: A. Quickly apologize and help the girl up ”*sniff * *sniff* You’re not mad?” The little girl says, wiping her eyes on her sleeve. You help the little arachne to her feet and use a piece of cloth to wipe the blood from her lip. After a moment the girl calms down and gives you a shy smile, even at a young age it amazes you how resilient monster girls are compared to the average human. You give the girl a pat on the head, and turn to continue on your journey. Before you can take a step, the arachne child latches herself around your legs and stops you from leaving. ”Can I come with you big brother? I’m all alone out here, pretty pleeeeaasseee.” The girl looks up at you pleadingly. Response: Yes: Considering the advantage a spider girl could offer, as well as having a traveling companion to lighten the mood, you agree to let the child accompany you. The girl claps her hands excitedly and takes hold of your hand, a large smile plastered across her face. ”Ooooh thank you so much big brother, you won’t regret it!” With that, the two of you continue on your journey, the arachne child climbs up your back and plops herself atop your head. You certainly won’t regret your decision… You hope. *Arachne Child has joined your party!* No: You decide it would be a bad idea to take a child, let alone a monster child to accompany you on your journey, you might not be able to guarantee her safety and she might slow you down. You try your best to gently refuse the girl. She hangs her head down and wanders off back into the forest, sobbing lightly as she goes. You can’t help but feel guilty but what’s done is done and you continue back on your journey. B. Scold the child for jumping out at you You admonish the child for her actions, saying that she could have been seriously hurt had she accidentally been hit by the blade of the sword. The girl defiantly sticks out her tongue at you and you decide on a more stern way to reprimand her, your belt. After a few swats on the bottom, the girl scampers off into the bushes, maybe next time she’ll reconsider attacking strangers… At least until she gets older and starts raping men like a normal monster. With that settled, you continue on your journey. C. Use your jar of Holstaurus milk on her (not available if you pissed off Scarlett) You offer the little girl your jar of Holstaurus milk to heal her injuries, perhaps a little over kill but the child seems over joyed at your concern and gladly accepts your gift. ”It doesn’t hurt that bad but thank you big brother!” she flashes you a big smile before pocketing the jar. *-1 Jar of Holstaurus Milk* With a tired sigh, you pat the girl on the head, and turn to continue on your journey. Before you can take a step, the arachne child latches herself around your legs and stops you from leaving. ”Can I come with you big brother? I’m all alone out here, pretty pleeeeaasseee.” The girl looks up at you pleadingly. You try your best to gently refuse the girl. She hangs her head down and wanders off back into the forest, sobbing lightly as she goes. You can’t help but feel guilty but what’s done is done and you continue back on your journey. D. Say nothing Your silence upsets the girl who after quickly wiping her tears, stands up and glares at you. ”Oooh you’re suck a meany!”She swiftly kicks you in the shin and runs off into the bushes, leaving you with a fresh bruise. With a tired sigh, you continue back on your journey. No: Lost in your thoughts, you barely notice the sudden motion out of the corner of your eyes. Brandishing your rusty sword at the last second, you swing the blade and barely connect with the side of the creature, causing it to cry out and hit the ground. Your victory is short lived however, as you see the fiendish creature is actually a small Arachne child. A deep gash has opened up on her arm and is bleeding profusely. It looks bad but doesn’t look life threatening. ”*sniff* I wasn’t.. *sniff* trying to hurt you… I was just *sniff* lonely… WAAAAAAAH” A. Quickly apologize and help the girl up You try to help the girl but she soon becomes hysterical with her crying. Despite her injury, she runs off into the bushes and out of sight. You hope she will be alright but there is nothing else you can do. You continue on your journey, feeling a little more depressed than before. B. Scold the child for jumping out at you The child continues to cry as you reprimand them for their actions. You soon realize that you’re making the situation worse and you try to apologize but the little arachne becomes hysterical with her crying. Despite her injury, she runs off into the bushes and out of sight. You hope she will be alright but there is nothing else you can do. You continue on your journey feeling like a jerk. *-5 Luck* C. Use your jar of Holstaurus milk on her (not available if you pissed off Scarlett) You offer the girl your jar of Holstaurus milk. She sniffles a few times before hesitantly accepting your gift. After a quick taste, she quickly finishes off the jar in one gulp. With a little burp, she smiles lightly at you, and miraculously her arm heals right before your eyes. *-1 Jar of Holstaurus Milk* You apologize one more time and pat the girl on the head, and turn to continue on your journey. Before you can take a step, the arachne child latches herself around your legs and stops you from leaving. ”Can I come with you big brother? You try your best to gently refuse the girl. She hangs her head down and wanders off back into the forest, sobbing lightly as she goes. You can’t help but feel guilty but what’s done is done and you continue back on your journey. D. Say nothing Your silence only upsets the girl more, causing her to cry harder. Clutching her injured arm, she hurries off into the bushes, a small trail of blood following behind her. Like a heartless bastard, you continue on your journey, where hopefully a monster will catch you and rape you just like you deserve… jerk. *-5 Luck* *-10 Alignment* ***** To be continued… |

Monster girl dungeon continued… *PART TWO* Did you bring the Arachne child with you? (If not, proceed to next post) Yes After having gained a new traveling companion you and the little Arachne continued on your journey. Though you are uncertain how the little girl’s company will affect your mission, you are glad to have someone to talk to on your journey, she seems happy to have someone with her as well. ”Thank you for bringing me along big brother, it was so lonely in the forest by myself.” she says happily; she climbs off the top of your head and rests on your shoulder, giving you a grateful smile. Respond: A. ”Why were you alone in the first place? Where are your parents?” The little girl’s smile disappears and she looks sadly off into the distance. ”M-my momma was killed by a monster… “ Tears start to brim in her eyes, and she struggles to choke them back. “She tried to stop her from kidnapping my daddy… B-but the monster, she… She was too strong.” She turns away and sobs quietly. A. Comfort her ”Your mother was very brave; her sacrifice will not be in vain.” you say confidently, and wipe away the tears on her cheek. The girl gives you a small smile, and you pat her on the head gently. ”What is your name?” “Clara Silkstrider!” She says proudly, and true to her name, she brandishes a strong looking strand of silk rope. “I’m not good enough to make clothing like my momma, but someday I’ll follow in her footsteps and make the most beautiful silk clothing in all the land! For now though, I can make rope if you need it.” Companion trait learned: *Escape rope* You smile to yourself as you continue on your journey; perhaps bringing the little girl along with you was a wise decision after all. *Continue on to (Continuation A)* B. Change the subject ”Uh.. Yeah… Sooo.. What is your name?” The little girl sobs lightly before wiping her nose with her sleeve. “Clara… *sniff*… Clara Silkstrider…” Her eyes are downcast. You continue your journey in silence. *Continue on to (Continuation B)* C. Remain silent The girl continues to sob as you continue on your journey. *-5 Luck* *Continue on to (Continuation B)* D. Berate her for being weak… Really? You’re going to be an ass like that?... fine… ”Crying is a sign of weakness; it won’t bring back your dead mother or rescue your father! ” You say harshly. The girl sniffles a few more times before nodding her head… Wait what? “You’re right; I need to be brave like momma so that I can rescue my daddy!” She says spiritedly; you nod your head approvingly. ”That’s more like it. So what is your name?” “Clara Silkstrider!” She says proudly, and true to her name, she brandishes a strong looking strand of silk rope. “I’m not good enough to make clothing like my momma, but someday I’ll follow in her footsteps and make the most beautiful silk clothing in all the land! For now though, I can make rope if you need it.” Companion trait learned: *Escape rope* ….. Whatever you ass, you continue on your journey or whatever, I don't even know if I can take Luck or Alignment away from you on that…. *Continue on to (Continuation A)* *-10 Alignment* . . . *+5 Alignment* B. ”Yeah well this is only temporary, first chance I get I’m going to drop you off with someone else.” The girl looks at you in complete shock at your harsh words. Her eyes brim with tears and her lip begins to tremble. “WAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!” The girl cries loudly; the force of her cry causes you to stumble slightly. Negative effect: -1 to agility The little Arachne jumps off of your shoulder and runs away into the forest. *Arachne child is no longer your companion* You continue on your journey, a little worse for wear. (Go to next post to choose “No” for companion option) C. Say nothing “Umm my name’s Clara, what’s yours?” She presses, trying to gage a response from you, but you continue on your journey in silence, the Arachne child pokes you in the cheek every now and again to see if you’re a zombie. *Continue on to (Continuation B)* *Achievement unlocked "Zombie Hero"* D. Smile creepily at Arachne child Feeling uncomfortable under your creepy gaze, the Arachne child climbs down from your shoulder and walks next to you. ”So what’s your name?” You ask, creepy smile never wavering. “C-c-clara Silk… Silkstrider..” She says nervously, inching slightly away from you. ”So why are you out here all… alone” You say, inching closer to the spider girl, creepy smile in full force. Overwhelmed by your creepiness, the Arachne child runs off screaming for help into the forest. You shrug your shoulders and continue on your journey. A short distance down the road, you hear a rustling in the bushes, and out comes a gigantic Minotaurus with the little spider girl on her shoulder. “That’s him big sis, the weirdo I was telling you about!” She says, pointing her finger at you. The Minotaurus snorts and stomps over until she is towering above you, wielding a giant war axe. ”You mess with little girl?” She asks threateningly. You give her your signature creepy grin in response. ”… Goodbye creepy man” She says and brings her axe crashing down on you. Bad end: One less creep in the world. (Go back to beginning) ------------------------------------------ Continue Continuation A You continue on your journey in relative peace, your companion entertains you with stories of her mother and father and their life together. Before long, you are alerted by a fierce growl. You draw your sword and ready yourself for an attack, but hearing the growl again, you notice it is actually the rumbling of the little girl’s stomach. You look up to the girl on your shoulder and see that she is holding her stomach with an embarrassed look on her face. “I-I’m sorry, I haven’t had anything good to eat in a few days.” She says timidly, she clutches her stomach to suppress another strong growl but it’s still clearly audible. You look at the sky and estimate that you still have a couple hours until dusk; it will take you several more hours at the pace you’re going to reach the forest the monster is said to dwell in, but you could still make it farther if you decided to wait to make camp. A. Stop and make camp for the night ”I suppose it would be alright to make camp for the night, maybe even cook us up some food.” You say with a wink. The little girl squeals with excitement at the prospect of food. You find a nice spot off the path to make camp, even finding a small pond to refill your water. Did you gain Warrior's Insight? Yes: Listening to your mother has made you consider your actions more carefully; you wisely decide to filter some of the water from the pond with Clara’s silk and then boil it before adding it to your water bladder. “Wow! You’re smart big brother. I wish someone had taught me how to do that. I drank from a pond like that once and it gave me a belly ache for a week!” *Water bladder full* No: You absent mindedly fill your water bladder straight from the pond. Looking more closely, you see that there is a slight green tinge to the water. “I’d be careful big brother, I drank from a pond like that once and it gave me a belly ache for a week!” *Dirty water bladder full* With the water situation settled, you use the rest of the day picking berries and even manage to catch a rabbit. You use the berries as a nice glaze while cooking your meal. Clara watches over your shoulder with hungry eyes the whole time it cooks. *** Clara gives a satisfied sigh after dinner, rubbing her full belly happily. You’re grateful you didn’t have to yet break into your rations. With the sun finally set, you turn in for the night. Setting out your sleeping roll, you look over and see Clara shivering by the fire. Like the gentleman you are, you offer to let her curl up next to you. She happily agrees and cuddles up next to you, falling asleep within minutes. You soon find yourself slipping off to sleep, for a second you think you hear someone scream for help in the distance but the thoughts drift away as you succumb to fatigue and fall asleep. *** You wake up to the sound of birds chirping and sunlight shining on your face. With a stretch and a yawn, you reluctantly crawl out of your sleeping roll and make a breakfast of leftover smoked rabbit and berries. The smell of the food rouses the little spider girl and she happily joins you for breakfast. *Continue on to (Continuation A)* B. Offer the girl some smoked meat as a snack and keep going Opening up your pack, you pull out a ration of smoked meat. The sight of the meat causes Clara to visibly drool, you offer a piece to the starving girl and she quickly snatches it and gobbles it down. “Thanks big brother, I feel a lot better!” She says with a satisfied smile, the little girl gives you a peck on the cheek and swings her feet happily from your shoulder. -1 Smoked meat *Continue on to (Continuation B)* C. Stay silent Ignoring the poor child’s hunger pains, you continue in silence. You can’t help but notice that even on your shoulder, she seems fatigued from hunger. *Continue on to (Continuation B)* D. Eat a snack in front of her … Dick… Opening up your pack, you pull out a piece of smoked meat. The sight of the meat causes Clara to visibly drool, but instead of offering any to her, you pop the meat in your mouth with an evil smile. A flurry of emotions flashes across the little Arachne child’s face; shock, sadness, anger and… hunger. You probably should have reconsidered this action while allowing a little spider girl to sit so close to your exposed neck. Your cruel actions cause the little girl to snap; before you can even think to react, she sinks her fangs into your throat, pumping a paralytic poison into your veins. Your body instantly freezes up, and you fall back on your back. As you struggle to breathe, Clara climbs across your chest and locks her hungry eyes with yours. “I’m sorry big brother, I’m just so hungry... You should’ve shared... But I guess it’s not so bad... That smoked meat will make you taste even better...” Bad end: Spider food. (Go back to beginning) ------------------------------------------ Continuation B You continue on your journey in silence, only broken by the occasional sob from your companion. “I-I’m sorry big brother, I haven’t had anything good to eat in a few days.” She says timidly, she clutches her stomach to suppress another strong growl but it’s still clearly audible. (Go back to beginning) ------------------------------------------ Continue Continuation A After putting away your supplies and cleaning up the campsite, you decide to continue on your way. The little arachne child takes her usual place on your shoulder, happily kicking her feet. A short distance down the road you encounter a horrible scene. A Gyoubu Danuki lies dead on the path, her cart is in pieces to the side, and the signs of a heavy fight are evident by the damaged terrain. The little girl buries her head into your shoulder at the sight. Do you examine the scene? Yes You set the child aside and instruct her not to look at girl. She nods and covers her eyes while she looks away. You then set yourself to finding out what happened to the Raccoon girl. After examining the girl’s remains, you are unable to determine the type of monster that attacked her, though you’re certain it wasn’t the same girl who has been terrorizing your village. Turning to her cart, you find it has been looted of anything valuable save for a few coils of cloth and fabric which have been stained by the girl’s blood. Just as you are about to turn away, a small latch on the bottom of the cart catches your eye. Unlocking the latch, the bottom of the cart opens, revealing a hidden compartment with a sword inside. Admiring the blade, you can’t help but feel there is more to it than meets the eye, but without knowing how to unlock its potential, it is just barely better than the rusty blade you currently wield. *Strange sword acquired* With a new sword in hand, you return to the arachne child. You feel bad about leaving the girl without giving her a proper burial but you cannot afford to waste any more time and resolve to push onwards. *** After traveling in silence for what feels like hours, you finally reach the edge of the forest that is rumored to be home to the monster girl you’ve been pursuing. You steel your nerves as you look in the foreboding darkness of the forest before you. ”Are you ready for this?” You ask, turning your head to your little companion on your shoulders. “To get my daddy back… Yes! Let’s do this!” To be continued… No You decide there is nothing you can do, and it would be better not to disturb her remains. A short distance down the road you hear shouting and the sound of a fight, drawing your sword you rush ahead to find the source of the commotion. As the path turns you see a Gyoubu Danuki engaged in a losing battle with a large Minotaurus woman, she is desperately trying to avoid being cleaved in half by the monster’s large battle axe, but a wound on her leg is slowly her down substantially. An unconscious human man lies off to the side next to a ruined cart, obviously the reason behind the fight. After a quick dodge to the left, the Raccoon girl trips and crashes to the ground. The Minotaurus laughs and raises the axe above her head to finish the girl off. The Danuki girl screams in terror, holding up her hands in a futile attempt to ward of the coming attack. ”Stop this instant!” You shout heroically. Though this does not stop the monster, it does distract her enough that her swing follows the wrong path and misses the girl by a few centimeters. The Gyoubu Danuki scrambles away from the monster and hides behind her ruined cart; she pulls the man behind with her. ”Who are you?” The bull girl squints at you. A smile spreads across her face when she notices you’re a human male, and she slides a finger down her chest to her naval seductively, sending a chill down your spine. It occurs to you that you are now a prize in her eyes, and defeat would not end in simple rape with this woman. ”I-I’m the new hero in these lands, and It’s my responsibility to stop you!” You try to maintain your confident bravado despite the new stakes. You brandish your sword for added emphasis, but this just makes the woman smile even wider. ”Good, fighting makes me horny.” She smiles and raises her axe into a combat stance. “Teach her a lesson big brother!” Clara shouts, jumping off your shoulder. You didn’t assume she would be able to help you directly in a fight, but the feeling of being completely alone against this beast is almost overwhelming. Did you acquire Warrior's Insight? Yes: Your mother’s words echo in your head and reinstill the confidence you need to stand before this monster. You tighten your grip on your blade and assume a combat stance as well. Your years of training has prepared you for this moment. A. Charge in head first Deciding to take the offensive, with a battle cry you charge in at the woman. With a smirk, she raises her axe to deflect your attack, but you feint to the left. When she attempts to redirect her block, you swing on the right, catching her Achilles and dropping her to one knee. She screams in pain and rage, and attempts another swing but you easily deflect her attack and follow with a counter, opening up a wide arc across her chest and another across her arm. The combination of attacks overwhelms the woman, and she falls on her back in defeat. You stand above your fallen foe with your sword raised to her throat. ”Have mercy...” She pleads, raising her arms to shield her face. Let her go: Ever the aspiring hero, you decide to have mercy on the woman. You lower your sword, and signal for her to leave. With her tail between her legs, the minotaurus hobbles away clutching her wounds. You’re certain she will make a full recovery but you hope she will reconsider attacking innocent travelers next time. Looking at your opponent, you realize you will not be able to fend off any of her attacks directly. Her brute strength alone is far too much to handle, you will have to consider another tactic if you wish to survive this fight, let alone defeat her. C. Ask Clara for help (not available if she is still hungry) You signal for the little arachne child that you would like her assistance. She nods her head and disappears into the bushes. You see her appear a moment later behind the minotaurus and begins stealthfully applying a strong silk thread around the monster’s feet. You make a rude gesture with your middle fingers to taunt the woman, and she falls for the bait. With a roar, she tries to charge towards you but Clara’s webbing trips her up and catches her off balance. She falls on her face with a loud thud. Seeing that it is safe, she cautiously brings herself out from hiding. She has patched up the wound on her leg and the man has regained consciousness. ”Thank you so much for saving us, I thought for sure we were done for.” The girl gives you a grateful hug, and the man does his best to shake your hand firmly in thanks. ”Truly, is there any way that we can repay you?” The man asks. Before you have a chance to deny the offer, Clara’s stomach grumbles loudly. “Heh... Sorry.” She says shyly. The couple laughs heartily, and you can’t help but join in, happy to feel the post battle stress melt away. *** After gathering what few rations they had, the couple quickly threw together a nice meal for you and Clara. You tried to turn down the offer after seeing how little they had on them, but they insisted they would restock at the closest village. Finally having a real meal, Clara sighs contentedly, rubbing her full belly with a smile. The sun has finally set, and your little group huddles around a makeshift campfire. You all talk and share stories for a while before settling into a comfortable silence. The couple eventually excuses themselves for the night and cuddle together under a large blanket, you hope for your sake as well as Clara’s that they keep it just at that. Looking over, you see Clara has fallen asleep against you. You lay out your sleeping roll and tuck the little girl in before laying down for the night. You soon succumb to your fatigue from the day and fall asleep. You wake up to the sound of birds chirping and sunlight shining on your face. With a stretch and a yawn, you reluctantly crawl out of your sleeping roll and find that the couple has prepared breakfast from the leftovers, the smell of cooking food rouses Clara from her sleep as well and she joins you all for breakfast. After a quick breakfast, you apologize to the couple, saying that you must continue on your quest. Before you can leave however, the Danuki stops you and says they thought of a way to repay you. She goes over to her ruined cart and flips a latch on the underside, revealing a hidden compartment with a sword inside. The raccoon girl gently hands the sword over to you as if handing off a priceless jewel. ”My family has owned this sword for many generations; we call it the Illusionist’s respite. As long as you wield it, your enemies will have a much harder time striking you, though it only works for those who know its power. It’s been nothing more than an heirloom for far too long, maybe you can see that it serves a purpose once again.” *Illusionist’s respite acquired* You thank the pair several times, expressing your gratitude for such a remarkable blade. Monster Girl Dungeon Continued... *Part Two* Did you bring the Arachne child with you? No After having turning away the little Arachne child, you continued on your journey. You once again fall victim to the boredom of traveling alone, even the normal sounds of wildlife are absent as you trudge along. Before long, you are alerted by a fierce growl. You draw your sword and ready yourself for an attack, but hearing the growl again, you notice it is actually the rumbling of your stomach. You look at the sky and estimate that you still have a couple hours until dusk; it will take you several more hours at the pace you’re going to reach the forest the monster is said to dwell in, but you could still make it farther if you decided to wait to make camp. A. Stop and make camp for the night ”I suppose it would be alright to make camp for the night.” You think to yourself. You find a nice spot off the path to make camp, even finding a small pond to refill your water. Did you gain Warrior's Insight? Yes: Listening to your mother has made you consider your actions more carefully; you wisely decide to filter some of the water from the pond with a piece of birch bark and a mixture of grass and sand and then boil it before adding it to your water bladder. ”Dysentery would put this adventure to a quick end.” You say to yourself when you notice the green tinge of the pond, you’re glad you didn’t add it straight to your water bladder. *Water bladder full* No: You absent mindedly fill your water bladder straight from the pond. Looking more closely, you see that there is a slight green tinge to the water. ”Shit… Well I guess that’s not safe to drink anymore.” *Dirty water bladder full* With the water situation settled, you use the rest of the day picking berries and even manage to catch a rabbit. You use the berries as a nice glaze while cooking your meal. Your stomach growls loudly as you smell the delicious aromas. *** You let out a sigh of relief at the feeling of a full stomach. You’re grateful you didn’t have to yet break into your rations. With the sun finally set, you turn in for the night. Setting out your sleeping roll, you soon find yourself slipping off to sleep, for a second you think you hear someone scream for help in the distance but the thoughts drift away as you succumb to fatigue and fall asleep. *** You wake up to the sound of birds chirping and sunlight shining on your face. With a stretch and a yawn, you reluctantly crawl out of your sleeping roll and make a breakfast of leftover smoked rabbit and berries. *Continue on to (Continuation A)* B. While not full, you do feel better to have something in your stomach. -1 Smoked meat *Continue on to (Continuation B)* ----------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------ Continue Continuation A After putting away your supplies and cleaning up the campsite, you decide to continue on your way. The couple laughs heartily, and you can’t help but join in, happy to feel the post battle stress melt away. *** After gathering what few rations they had, the couple quickly threw together a nice meal for you. You tried to turn down the offer after seeing how little they had on them, but they insisted they would restock at the closest village. Finally having a real meal, you sigh contentedly. The sun has finally set, and your little group huddles around a makeshift campfire. You all talk and share stories for a while before settling into a comfortable silence. The couple eventually excuse themselves for the night and cuddle together under a large blanket, you hope for your sake that they keep it just at that. You lay out your sleeping roll and lay down for the night. You soon succumb to your fatigue from the day and fall asleep. You wake up to the sound of birds chirping and sunlight shining on your face. With a stretch and a yawn, you reluctantly crawl out of your sleeping roll and find that the couple has prepared breakfast from the leftovers. You say your goodbyes and continue on your journey. *** After traveling for a few hours, you finally reach the edge of the forest that is rumored to be home to the monster girl you’ve been pursuing. You steel your nerves as you look in the foreboding darkness of the forest before you. ”Alright… It’s now or never” You say out loud and step forward into the darkness. To be continued… Continuation B: With the minotaurus dead, you turn your attention to the raccoon girl. Unsure of her savior, she remains tucked away behind the cart, observing you from a distance. ”T-thank you for saving us, I thought for sure we were done for.” The girl says nervously. ”Is there any way that we can repay you?” The man asks.
