I am looking for anything similar to it. Doesn't have to be exact or anything but a romance one with different choices/routes that isn't super fan service/raunchy. Something like Shoujo that is more about the story and charries and more on the sweet side.

Also something please that isn't near impossible to get lol. I get vns are hard to get but something please that I don't have to go through a million hoops to get working. Preferably jut download and open and play. I remember Katawa had a million hoops. From needing to format to Japanese or whatever to read it in english and a million problems with having to do different stuff to the downloads.

I am not sure about the game you are comparing others to but I know of 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors. The game is simply epic imo, it has 6 different endings and you can get all of them, it has puzzles which are kinda fun, and a story which is really interesting. Many plot twists are there as well. It is the best visual novel I played and I highly recommend it. :)

OP asked for something like Katawa Shoujo? Screw that, let's recommend 999, that's about as far from what OP wanted as it gets. Splendid job. (^_^)d

@OP
I have no idea what kind of problems you could have with Katawa Shoujo - it's a non-Japanese VN that requires absolutely nothing to install and run on an average PC. If you really had issues with that, I have nothing to recommend.

Otherwise, you should get officially translated titles - they don't require anything other than installation. Some suggestions:
Clannad - https://visualnovels.moe/clannad
Shuffle - http://www.mangagamer.com/detail.php?goods_type=1&product_code=13
Da Capo - http://www.mangagamer.com/detail.php?goods_type=1&product_code=59
(the last 2 have some sexual content, but no more than Katawa Shoujo)

There are also some freeware VNs that don't require any special tweaks to run, like True Remembrance http://www.insani.org/trueremembrance.html and many other titles translated by this group. Not all of them are like KS, but some should fit.

Clannad is a good visual novel that is similar.
I'd personally recommend Symphonic Rain too, it has a somewhat similar feeling to Katawa Shoujo.

Nothing is going to be easier to download and play than Katawa Shoujo. Clannad is on Steam now though, I believe.

It was a looooong long time ago I also think I downloaded like a bootleg version and not a official or whatever so that prolly made it harder. It was mainly just having to extract a bunch of different stuff into different folders and figuring it all out and where to put it and that I even had to do it on my own with no info. Plus for whatever reason it was in all Japanese and I had to format to English odd if it wasn't a Japanese Game. Also I was pretty young back then.

Also Most of the stuff I go to download I can't open. I remember that I have to download some things to extract the files and open them but don't remember what they where. I'm a noob at this kinda stuff.

I am currently playing Narcissu and it does feel the same as Katawa Shoujo. For now at least. You can get it for free through Steam.

Now why do i really feel like recommending Grisaia No Kajitsu>
It has girls with 'past issues' and that's what makes the unique.

I mean not gonna lie, I doubt they'll ever finish it, but still, you have to admit:

This fucking laugh yo. Don't tell me it's not perfect and don't you tell me it was better silent.

If you ask me "If My Heart Had Wings" is very similar its like Katawa Shoujo.

It has 5 branches
Its 20-30 hours game (of corse if you don't try to get different ending)
patch has sexuality (not that I like it)
It's a good game

People recommended me A Little Lily Princess but I haven't played any "full saccharine" VN other than this one and it's not something to lose your shit for.
No sex stuff as far I as can remember

It's basically this but anime
