| Problem is CGI but people just not mad because of this.Also the timeskip and changing some character assets.You should watch episode one to decide imo. |

It wasn't just the animation but also the directing of the scenes that was just bad. If the animation is not good then the directing of it can still make it enjoyable to watch but Berserk 2016 had just bad directing. So fir the OP. if you haven't watched any of the berserk anime then I suggest that you should watch the first one (1997). Yh the animation may look dated but the directing is far superior to most anime. And then there is the good OST it has too. |

| short answer: ppl hate the CGI , but the story is continuin after the prev anime/movies, and the story is still good and interesting to watch, dont let other people affect your decision, make it yourself. |

| wrong category, OP. try the Berserk(2016) forum next time. It isn't really a continuation. It's yet another adaptation, but it does focus on the events past the golden age arc. So you can see it as a sequel. The CGI/animation itself isn't per se that terrible. It's actually decent, the direction and artwork is a bit all over the place, and they don't really seem to know how to put together an anime, or were pressed by budget. The story is good, plotholes can easily be explained since we started in medias res. They follow the story to a T except that they skipped some arcs, and had to fix that with some orignal content™. If you're into Berserk (and don't want to read the manga), pick this up. If you're not, don't bother really. |
