Historic/feudal Japan style anime where the mc is a girl and pretends to be a boy

I'm looking for a an anime that is historical and takes place in ancient Japan or China. The mc needs to be a girl that pretends to be a boy, for circumstances such as: Family being massacred, having to take over for someone who has died but they can't becaus they are female, or for just general safety against people who are after the mc or something. I would like it more on the serious side, not too much of that comedy. I have seen Legend of basara, otogizoushi, and Kai doh maru. This will probably be really hard to recommend, but I hope you can find something. Thanks

Not quite the same, but in Baseball Girls the main characters are females playing baseball in order to prove that girls able to do something that was considered to be too masculine at the time.

I want an anime... Not a Disney movie. I mean I get what I'm asking for in an anime is similar to Mulan, it's Disney. I don't want a kids movie, I want a anime.

Parts of Junni Kokuki ("Twelve Kingdoms") have this plot. So does Saiunkoku Monogatari in one arc as I recall.
