| Great topic! It's just I think insects are way below anything. I don't like them. I have no feelings for them. I don't care if they die. I don't feel that their lives are meaningful. Until we can show that they have any part of humanistic traits like compassion or something, I won't ever feel guilty killing them. Insects basically do nothing other than focus on survival within their physical limits which restricts them and ultimately makes them bound to evolution. Of course humans are similar, but we can focus on things outside and beyond survival and evolution which can benefit not only us, but other living beings as well. No other animal can seemingly do this to our extent. Though, there's also the fact death surrounds us constantly whether we can see it or not. With each breath you take or step you place you're killing something whether it be microbes or insects. It's unavoidable and you're programmed for survival so as long as it doesn't have consequences regarding that fact they cease to be important to us as they're destruction is due to being weak compared to us. |
