Anime like Death Note or Code geass

What makes Death note and Code Geass so interesting to watch? I think that a lot of people will agree that both of them are similar.

In my opinion both of these anime the MC starts at zero and with new given power is trying to conquer the world and tries to make his own empire gets his own followers. Which is done mostly by using his brain and with special power which is incredibly strong but at the same time might leave the MC very weak in most of situation.

I have tried to find anime similar but all i get is the physiological similarity. I think we need more of the world domination and more of that strong but at the same time weak power, smart MC , and starting off at zero
