Need help Digesting something I just watched (SPOILERS UP TO EPISODE 124!)

So I need help Digesting the time skip that I just saw. I feel like all the characters I knew just flew right out the window, and are not old geezers. Is there any way I can take all of this in a little easier? Please don't spoil anything beyond episode 124. I basically just saw the time skip and that Lucy's dad died. Does it get better? Will I get used to the new...aged characters?

You probably will because most of them never played any essential role to the story to begin with, that is if you can bear to watch more of the same over and over in the manner that only fairly tail can deliver.

Look its a super duper strong bad guy who is wiping the floor with fairy tails strongest...oh wait....#friendship boost....Oh look Natsu one shotted him/her. The End
